In 17 day(s) you can save time, skip the line and check in online?

What does this mean? It's what appears when I sign into my reservations at WDW. Does this refer to the resort or dining, they both appear on this page.....what happens when you check in online? Don't you still have to go to the desk and get your room keys....does that just refer to payment transaction? THANKS...never seen that pop up before!

IMHO, checking-in online is a joke. I still spend at least 5 minutes at the desk after "checking in" online. It takes me 2 minutes at most non-WDW hotels. I still can't figure out why it takes WDW so long to hand me my packet and let me go.

Last time we checked in on line, it took less time to get thru the process because payment options were pre-arranged. they also did not review all the information in the packet you receive. It was basically who has permission to charge on the Key to the Kingdom cards and checking to see if our room was ready. Other than waiting in the line for a CM it only took a matter of minutes

It is great for guests who have been there before and don't need the whole spiel. Depending on when you are staying, it may save you quite a bit of time, but other times it really doesn't. Yeah, you still have to go to the desk and get your keys. You stand in the Online Check-in line, which is sometimes faster, but sometimes slower, than the regular check-in line.

It isn't super-fast, like when the Mariott pre-keys you and you check-in in about one minute. But is is (or is designed to be) faster than the long, drawn-out check-in.

If it is your first time at WDW, I'd go with the long, drawn-out version. Wait, I take it back. I'm not taking a side. Whichever side I take, THAT will be the longer line and then you'll blame me and the anger will turn to bitterness and you'll alienate your co-workers, lose your job and end up living on the streets, selling your virtue for a Mickey bar. I don't want to be responsible for all that.

Its also great if you have an odd arrival time. We were arriving at 8am to BWI and then 2 days later to POFQ.. I used Online Check in and was able to note this. Both resorts our rooms were ready when we checked in.

Only use online check in if you are regular. If you are have been to Disney only a few times or have lots of questions, don't do it. With online check in they give you your packet, show you where your room is and show you the keys and parking permit and send you off. We do it but we've been to Disney dozens of times.

Lol, that is exactly what I thought, too!

If you don't poop out some soft, brown poopies on a daily basis...to the walk-in line with you!!

...and eat more fiber, fruits and veggies...and get more exercise.

My last two trips I did not do online check in and it was fine. It took me a couple of mins longer and was not a big deal. If I were leaving a CC on file I might have done online check in.
