Impromtu Commitment Ceremony

I would appreciate it if anyone here could tell me about any experiences doing a quicky wedding/commitment ceremony at WDW. I want basically to have a minister, us, and maybe a group of 20 others at most. Most likely the group will be less than 6. This can be a very quick ceremony, it will be done in casual clothes, it should be done at WDW in MK or AK if possible.

Basically, I want to gather our group somewhere pretty, do the vow thing, and move on. LOL Neither of us is into the big wedding thing, especially since lesbians have no legal rights to marriage in Georgia or Florida. :brick: Make it legal and honey, we will raise the roof! :sohappy: We have been engaged for almost 4 years now, but my partner surprised me with wedding bands last night. I would love to arrange this as a special part of our December vacation.

Anyone ever do any sort of quicky ceremony at WDW?

Change of Plans

We changed our minds after the Canadian's decision to legalize marriage regardless of the gender of the adults seeking the civil union. We decided to get married in Toronto next year and then to do a vow renewal at WDW later on.

It appears that in order to do a Disney sponsered wedding, you have to have a valid marriage license. We can't do that since it's not legal for gays and lesbians to marry in FL, or any other US state, yet. But, with a valid marriage certificate, you can get a vow renewal done at WDW. I think we found our loophole.

One day, we will be married. One day, I will fight GA to get that marriage legally recognized. And one day, I will have my WDW fairytale wedding. Mickey

Congrats again! And I LOVE your plan! My new BF and I were jokingly talking about doing the exact same thing.

Best of luck to the brides!

I wish you both all the best! I'm concerned that if President Bush get his way your renewal at WDW will not happen.

And here's my plug.

Register to vote. Do it now while you're thinking about it.

When election day comes, VOTE.

I'm sorry, but I don't have a lot of sympathy for those who complain about this or that, then admit that they don't vote.

At the very least, you will have the satisfaction of saying, "hey--I did my part--I didn't vote for the guy."

Totally agree with that one! You cannot complain about a guy if you don't vote - if you do vote - you can moan whether it was your candidate or not!

This happens not only in our national elections - but our Students Union, the people that moan usually havn't voted.
