Impressed by Universal

The "Universal side" of the forum seem to mean anyone who doesn't blindly agree that Disney is always better.
No it's the side that thinks Universal is above reproach, especially when any comparison is made to Disney that's not in their favor.

Anyway, I've removed all my posts. Please continue your discussions absent my thoughts.

I think we’ve collectively pointed out how your vent example was nonsense.

I have never and would never say Universal is above reproach. Did you miss where I said F&F is crap and Disney is far better with live entertainment and parades?

Several of us talked about how bad F&F is in the thread, but people only see what they want to see.

I was at islands of adventure on the 28th and have to say the place was no fun at all.I've always loved going to universal but will never return over the Christmas period the queues were all over two hours or close to it.most of the quick service staff seemed miserable and very unhelpful. The park is at least five attractions short to handle those sort of crowds in my opinion universal needs to up their game over the busier periods or they will start losing customers to the mouse down the road.I will say had a brilliant day at volcano bay the next day definitely my favourite water park .

Operative phrase. Why would you this time? You know what to expect.

I've never done universal over the Christmas period and it was something I've always wanted to do. Turned out to be a big mistake but that's life will stick to going in May June from now on.

Tuesday is ideal. Dry, Cool, low crowds Christmas will be gone and water rides are closed for refurb . My favorite time.

Nope, Disney didnt want to kowtow to JK Rollings' demand for control. What was critical was Comcasts purchase of the Blackstone investments stake for a billion. At the time Comcast still has sufficient capital to make the necessary investments for elevating their parks with new attractions and experiences.

Potter had no logical fit for the MK. Would have been a thematic disaster. It is right where it should be. Universal.

I like Universal because everything is within walking distance. I don't have to drag my family on an armpit-smelling monorail to go to the next park. I also don't have to drive to another location if I want to go to a nice restaurant. Citywalk is right there. I'm not knocking Disney because we spend more time there than Universal when we visit. Also, Disney doesn't have a Fat Tuesdays.

I enjoyed Universal a great deal due to the size also. It is smaller, so getting from park to park is easier. It is much less crowded, so you can usually ride all of the rides you want to ride. (especially if you stay on property and have express pass) I do wish they had more
character breakfast offerings. I am a big kid on vacation, and unfortunately was traveling on Saturday, to and from, the only day a
character breakfast was offered.

This is the company that put Avatar into DAK and Star Wars into Disneyland. They don't require a logical fit.

Disney didn't get Potter for one reason.

"The key thing for me was that, if there was to be a theme park, that Stuart Craig … would be involved. … More than involved, that he would pretty much design it. Because I love the look of the films; they really mirror what’s been in my imagination for all these years."-JK Rowling

Disney and WDI weren't willing to abdicate that much creative power.

Disney also was not prepared to give the area the space they wanted. In this case, "Harry Potter", ended up in the place that
was best for him. Universal gave the IP the attention it deserved and now they have two excellent attractions, (the whole areas
of Hogsmeade & Diagon Alley), that are an excellent draw for their parks.

Didn't you PM me the other day asking me to stop replying to you so you could avoid the thread?

Well, welcome back.

That brings up a concern I have about the third gate, it doesn't seem like it'll be as convenient to access as UO and Islands are.
