Important CoP Status Question

Howdy -- this message is for anyone who has/will visited/visit the Magic Kingdom between the 24th and 28th of this month. Was the Carousel of Progress open during your visit?

A rumor from the MousePlanet boards indicated that the attraction would be down for "rehab" during those dates. I'm curious to see what's going on and if it actually was shut down.

Do they ever have the CoP open?? The times that my wife and I have been there (in December), it's been closed. My wife wants to ride it during our visit in two weeks. I hope it's open. Anybody know for sure???

The Carousel of Progress has been open nearly every day since October 2003. It is scheduled to go down March 18th for its return to "seasonal" operation, so it should be open during your trip!

Surely we have some CM/ Boardmembers who can answer this question.

Gizz...don't you have some "Very Reliable sources" you can ask?

I hope COP is open in May when I go...It's a must see when it's open and I'm in WDW

It's been open every day from the 24th to today (the 27th). I'm guessing it was due to go down for a week rehab. My cast info says its due to be closed all this week (it hasn't) and there are posters posted in the cast elevators with a pic of the cog sign of CoP saying it's down for rehab.

I guess they cancelled it due to the early closing of Astro Orbiter,the lack of Timekeeper and that there is only one chamber open for Stitch.

Hey, Grizz -- I was there on Wednesday (Jan 26), and she was up and whirling. Pretty steady crowds, too -- almost always at least 15 or 20 people waiting outside for the next open theatre.

I hope COP gets the treatment and proper rehab it deserves. I cant believe we are having a "celebration" and the COP is not even recognized. Why not advertise COP and its connection to Walt Disney. Its a slap in the face to Walt. :mad:

Moreso when it was closed on his 100th BIRTHDAY. . .

It is a slap in the face to Walt. I hate the way that the Disney company only recognizes the newer stuffs...that Walt wasn't around to see being created, and all the other stuff that Walt really thought of, and created himself have been pretty much forgotten. Disney is now only concerned with appealing the the "newer, younger, hipper crowd" Like on the vacation planning guide.. that Luke Guy..what the H3!!?? I understand the marketing tacticts and all, but was he really necessary to look like that, and talk like that??
