Let me preface by saying that TOT would be my breaking point if it were up to me.

But, on a side-note: Are we serious here??? I posted like the SAME EXACT THREAD like 2 days ago and got chewed out to the point that my parenting skills were called into question for postponing a trip a few weeks so that my daughter would get to ride Splash Mountain! How is it that everyone here, including some of the same people who ripped me a new one, are just peachy?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

You are kidding me right, KCheatle? Why do you have to keep beating a dead horse?
This thread would have gone uncommented on by me since the OP actually knows how to state the question they actually want an answer to w/o a boo hoo story. Oh and another poster pointed this thread out to me. Believe it or not I'm not here stalking threads. I've been on here for 4 years and no problems. But since you had to bring me up on this thread to the point of another poster having to say something to me... Stop beating a DEAD HORSE!
The audacity!

oh, and OP...no ride would make me not go to WDW. :) I just take it for what it is everytime I go. Have a nice day! :)

"The news that splash mountain will be closed for the first three months of 2013 for refurbishment got me thinking. Splash mountain has been my favourite ride at WDW since I first visited and I cannot think of a ride I would be more disappointed in finding out would be closed during my holiday.
The last time I visited Disney was in 2007 and both the haunted mansion and Spaceship Earth were closed for refurbishment and the lack of both these rides definitely had a negative impact. I have recently booked for next year and already concerned about what rides will be unaccessable!

Which ride would being closed for refurbishment would have the greatest negative impact on your next disney holiday?"

This is by the OP of this thread.

I was considering taking my Christmas bonus and suprising the family with a February trip to WDW. I was really on the fence about it because I just didn't know about taking time off and if my kids would enjoy the cooler temperatures in Florida in February (compared to when we usually go - May or September). However, when I saw the news today that Splash Mountain would be down that sealed the deal for me!! My daughter would absolutely die if that ride was not open for our trip!! I guess we won't be visiting the world again until later!!

What ride referb would be enough for you to postpone your trip?

This is the thread started by KCheatle the other day.

It's pretty cut and dry as to the clearness of what he is looking for. He's not asking about postponing anything, just about having a negative impact.

For KCheatle, I don't feel sorry that you got jumped on in that thread. You presented alot more information than was necessary and you got called out on how you said what you did. If you would've asked your question the way this OP did, I guarantee that you wouldn't have had other posters down your neck.

For the OP of this thread, you didn't put an option for NOTHING, cause no ride refurb would ruin Disney for me.

I would just DIE if Splash Mountain was down!!! (See what I did there @KCheatle ;) haha)

But, no,really, I would be so upset if SM was down!! That's a definite deal breaker for me!

Well, then prepare to be upset. If it's a deal breaker, then be prepared to go when there are no deals!
Oh yes....all those absent fall deals! ;)

I'd rather spend more money and have an awesome, complete vacation then book a "deal" and miss out on the things we love about the parks. Im not about to spend thousands and just "settle" because it's WDW. If thats cool for you to do, go for it! Means shorter lines for you in Jan/Feb when you go with my hoard of 5 absent! I'll enjoy my Splash Mountain! LOL

When did I say that I go in Jan/Feb? I stay away during South American tourist season. Last trip to WDW for was this past August. No deals, in the heat, rainy season, etc. I didn't say that I'd settle for a trip there. Yes, I'll get my money's worth, but one 12 minute ride isn't going to sway me.

As many people, myself included, have said: We'll catch it NEXT time.

So you've got your own "deal breakers"...it's just not a ride.

But either way...August is not a time with SM is closed for Refurb...so Im not sure how *I'm* going to be disappointed and missing deals? We go in Aug/Sept as well.....

I don't have any real deal breakers. I'll go when I'm able.

You admitted you have a deal breaker or at least something that clearly gives you pause and makes you pick and choose your dates to go with some care...

Just sayin'. And that's perfectly fine. Yours is just different from someone elses. But I don't feel like repeating the argument of the other day so that's the last I'll say.

Britt, that's a really cute memory about you and your son on SM. I have a few similar ones on other rides with my dad. :)
