The Kalikimaka Tiki Room
Closing overnight The Enchanted Tiki Room will become The Kalikimaka Tiki Room. As guests enter the queue for the Kalikimaka Tiki Room they will notice the changes for the holiday immediately. New tapa cloth tapestries depicting tikis celebrating winter and the holidays close in the tiki room blocking view to the outside world of Adventureland. Wreaths hanging on every column and pole are decorated with palm leaves, red and white hibiscuses, and miniature pineapples and coconuts. Snowmen made of sand replace the two tikis that used to stand guard over the pool of water. Clyde and Claude still host the same preshow as it provides sufficient exposition and backstory to the magic of the tiki room.
Walking into the Kalikimaka Tiki Room guests will be amazed at how at all the decorations that stretch throughout the ceiling zig zagging around will be lights, tinsel, garland and even strains of jingle bells. Outside the windows new window displays made up of poinsiettas and decorated palm trees create a new tropical vista with a merry twist. In the distance from the plants will be a snowcapped mountain, and through the use of projections a light snowfall is occurring in the distance. The birds themselves are donning their best winterwear. Some are wearing santa hats, others elf hats or even antlers; those that opted out of a hat wear scarves or earmuffs. Some birds got a little too excited and are now wearing winter mittens as new hats. Festivity is in the air at the Kalikmaka Tiki Room, and you can tell that the birds did not wing this holiday celebration.
