Images on Castle..how often will this occur???

I don't have a massive problem with images being plastered on the castle IF it isn't a constant thing. Are the images only going to be projected every couple of hours for a few minutes or is the castle going to be plastered with projections the moment it gets dark?

Or do the pictures mainly apply to the new show that will apparently (might be wrong here) replace Wishes?

I hope they blend it in with wishes. This is really cool technology but I would hate to see it replace Wishes. I am pretty sure it won't be all the time. We shall see.

Simply being an addition to Wishes is fine with me but I keep gettings hints that the projections will basically be smothering the castle before and after the Wishes show. I'm looking forward to more details as to how long and often we will have to see the castle covered up by random family pictures....being an extra segment in the show is one thing but please leave the castle alone for the rest of the evening

I'm sorry, but how is THIS cool technology? Images have been projected onto obejcts for over a century. Real people have been highlighted in commercials for decades. Crappy theme songs have always existed. Did Lord Voldemort escape from Universal and murder the creative people at WDW? I knew Universal went all out for the new Harry Potter section, but who knew they left no detail untouched!

Looking at the YouTube video that was posted and considering I read somewhere they would show about 500 images, it doesn't seem like this will take up too much time, unless they are running the images over and over and over.

I will admit that this doesn't seem like the most exciting news of all time, and I can understand how people might be upset with it, and maybe even consider it a bit tacky, but I ask this. If you are looking at the castle before or after Wishes (whenever they decide to do this) and see YOUR picture, will you still think it is tacky or will you think it is kind of cool? Personally, I think seeing a picture of me and my family moving across the castle would be pretty cool and quite an experience. Just my thoughts.

Honestly, I'd feel used. I'm still looking for an article that outlines how to opt in or out of the photo show. As long as it's something you actively opt in for, I don't mind it just looking kinda tacky.

The images will not be constant, just during a short show that will be presented. Also note that he said the show will be presented on special nights so who knows if they are even planning on doing it nightly.

I'm guessing that means that it won't be happening on hard-ticket event nights.

Having pictures loop during the entire night would be very stupid of Disney. I am guessing it will just happen during a show.

I am pretty sure that you opt in for with the purchase of your ticket to get into the park. I believe that most all theme parks have the right to use photographs that they take simply by letting you into the park. (Think of all the Disney, or any other private theme park, ads that use general shots taking in the park where you can clearly identify individuals, I doubt they had to get a waiver from each of them.) Now, if they stick to using just those shots taken through PhotoPass, perhaps they will set up some sort of opt out system, but legally I don't think they are required to and that by entering the park you are agreeing to let them use photos they take.

Ok its not the most "Awesome" promotion... and if this is going to be the bulk of our 40th Birthday party then I will be horrified...

THAT BEING SAID.... I think this is a nice promotion so long as it isnt more than a year long.... and I am sure they will find ways to use the projections in the firework shows, etc in ways that will be a bonus.

I know this is a company wide promotion ....BUT It would be nice if TDO would start to embrace the love by many of us of WDW nostalgia

I love people on this website.... complain first, wait-and-see later.

I'm guessing that means that it won't be happening on hard-ticket event nights.
Yes, you got it exactly right. Saying this will happen "on select nights" is basically a way of saying it will happen most of the time, but not on special-event nights. This will be on select nights the same way MEP is on select nights.
