We typically are early fall Disney travelers but decided to take a later trip this year to experience some of the holiday stuff and I am SO glad we did after I found out that the Festival of Lights will be done after this year. Tonight we went to see it and I was in complete awe of the display. I took a gazillion photos and videos and then I just sat there staring at it. I kept telling my daughter you will never see anything like this ever again, enjoy every second of it. I am so SAD that this wonderful display will no longer be in Disney. It has always been a bucket list for me and I am so glad I picked later vacation dates into the fall so we could experience it!

It is a great display. Last year was my first time seeing them and we'll be going back this year as well. I have a feeling they'll be back at some point in the future.

I have never seen Osborne Lights, but I would assume with something this popular, Disney will find a replacement space for it as soon as possible. I have always thought downtown CELEBRATION would look amazing and bring in the crowds!? I don't know, but give it a year and we will hear...either they are coming back in another location OR the technology was too far outdated to replace!(they're usual response when they don't want to spend the money to update something)

I'm so glad that you got to see it, too! I agree that it's amazing and unlike anything else - and I also am very sad that it's going away.

I too hope very much that they will put something like them somewhere else - but right after they announced that this would be the last year, I read that they will be returning (back to the family) the lights that the Osborne family donated. So if they do something in another location, it will have to be with new or different lights. Sadly, that makes it sound (to me) less likely to happen....but I Really hope they will find another location!

I wouldn't hold my breath... I'm still waiting for Spectromagic to return and 5 years later I'm still waiting. With Disney things change and often what we enjoyed most isn't something that Disney decides to keep... Just have to move on and find something else to take its place.

They should keep them but integrate them into the new areas they are making. The lights are great and people love them. First they remove the hat and now this and the main waterfall in the Polynesian (the worst removal in my opinion, and all they do is replace it with some leaves and sticks, lame). Disney is getting rid of it's more iconic features in some areas, and I'm not quite sure why.

I'm glad you got to see them. I just saw them last week for the first (and last) time while running during the Wine & Dine "quarter" marathon. It definitely was a sight to see!

We he a family trip planned for 2016 after thanksgiving but decided to move it up to this year bc of the lights. So god we did so. Only 13 more days.

Over the last few years they seem to have replaced the lights with LED lights, so I guess they main things they will give back are the wire frames and if they kept them around the old incandescent lights. Based on the experience with lights of winter over at Epcot I would say they are gone for good after this year, at least they are being honest about it this time and not trying to sell any "tech too old" nonsense.

Saw them last week for the first time and was amazed and went back another night to see again. Just the whole atmosphere was amazing. Was really nice going during EMH as could enjoy the show more.
Glad I did it regret not doing it preciously

Maybe somewhere in Disney Springs they can put back up the display?
While this is a great idea, I don't think they would every put it in DS. It probably costs a lot to run it and for putting it up and taking it down and the cost of park tickets helps to cover that cost. If they put it in DS, I could see them raising prices on things down there to compensate.

I saw them last week for one last time- they literally take my breath away! I was with friends who have never seen them and their jaws dropped. We could not stop taking pics and videos.
