...but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to ask on the boards here. I hope it's okay. I'll ask in the hopes that it's acceptable. If not, my apologies and I invite the mods to delete the thread. K?

I'm looking for an antique/vintage Singer Featherweight sewing machine. Ideally I'd like to find a model 221 but won't rule out any of the later models. Of course I'd love to happen upon one in great working order complete with case and all accessories. These are not the mounted, foot treadle kind. They were electric w/a regular foot pedal and came in a carrying case. They were portable, lightweight machines (comparatively considering when they were made) and could be carried around or packed away in a closet vs. mounted on a cabinet. From what I've read, they were produced from the mid 1930s up to the '60s in factories in the US, Canada, and the UK. I've also recently seen a Brother brand machine from the same time period that looked a LOT like the Singers. I'd really love to find an old Brother but for now I'll be happy with the Singer. They were very widely produced and popular so they aren't super-hard to find, just harder to find in really great condition. Anywhoo, dig around in your attics or basements. Ask some of your older relatives if they have one. If you find one take some pics, make a list of what accessories it has with it, and shoot me a PM here. I'll give you my email address and we'll work from there on the details.

Additionally, for a reference, this is a good representation of what they look like:
