I'm in the MyMagic+ test for August at Pop

I got a letter via UPS and an email. I've linked my AP to my Magic Band and I've made fastpass selections! (3 a day plus I got a few bonus ones)

Using the website to make selections is rather cumbersome. Not buggy but it seemed like too many steps and lots of loading time. It's 5 steps to change just one fastpass time.

Magic Band come Monday (I got and email today with the UPS tracking) and ill be there Aug 4-11.

I will try to post more this trip than usual (usually I forget WDWMagic when I'm in the bubble) in case folks are curious.

I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas!!

I was just going to post a similar thread. We also got selected to test MyMagic+ for the same dates in August. We are doing a split stay, 2 nights at AKL and 6 at Poly. We are annual passholders.

We also received the letter via UPS package delivery in the morning, and in an email that afternoon (why Disney spent money on UPS when they emailed the exact same information, I don't know.) The disclaimer: This invitation is sent to you based on your arrival date and Disney Resort hotel. It is nontransferable and void if sold. Based on your participation in this test, you will be asked for feedback on your planning and trip experiences from Walt Disney World Research.

Since our invitation was based on our AKL reservation, I initially thought we would only be allowed to participate for the 3 day/2 night part of our vacation. However, after customizing our Magic Bands and moving to the FastPass+ selection page, we were able to pick FP+ for ALL the days of our vacation.

We are rope drop people, so all our FP+ picks are in the morning. We also park hop, so it will be interesting to see if we can use our APs for obtaining fastpasses at a different park in the afternoon/evening.

And since I know there will be questions...

Your 3 choices are grouped by time frame, A (morning), B (mid-day) C (afternoon) D (evening). The default option is "Best Match" where the time order is picked for you, but you are free to pick your own grouping. Also, you can change an individual attraction time within the grouping (with limitations). The system is smart enough to pick up on timing conflicts if you have a dining reservation.

If you don't choose 3 selections, the system asks if you want to proceed (say you have only picked 2 of 3). If you answer yes, the system will "recommend" the remaining selection for you. I did this several times to test it out, and the "recommendations" are always the most popular attractions: Soarin, Toy Story, Space Mountain, etc. so I give Disney props for that!

Thanks for the info, this might be a daft question but would you be able to fast pass+ the same ride 3 times but in different time frames?

Well that's good that you can pick an all morning grouping for fastpass. I was wondering if you were able to have them all then, so for me, it would free me up to go to another park later, or I could pick a mid-day grouping and do a rope drop EPCOT in the morning, but have MK fastpasses lined up for mid-day when I could park hop over there.

Did not try that, but I am guessing no. If there is a time frame problem (like trying to ride the same attraction in three different time zones), the system has a "we're sorry but..." message.

Can your three choices be all in one day part, or do they have to be spread out, or is it all up to you, if available?

When I booked the choices for the day we arrived I was able to book them all in the evening at the MK (after 8pm) and it was fairly liberal with the time changes. But you have to change things one at a time and it's hard to swap things because you can't book two things that overlap.

You can't do that. You can pick up to three selections then get you fastpass time options. They never offer you the same ride more than once even if you only pick one ride.

However, I didn't try to change an existing fastpass to be a second for the same attraction.
