I'm Concerned About EPCOT

I always thought EPCOT was the best EPCOT park. (I'm more of a 'tame' ride person. I'm not into rollercoasters and the like.) But, EPCOT seems to be getting rid of the tame rides which I enjoy. They got rid of World Of Motion and replaced it with Test Track. There goes 1 ride I enjoy and nothing in return. They got rid of Horizons and are replacing it with Mission: Space, which I don't know I'll like. I really hope Disney doesn't turn EPCOT into a thrill park.

I think Epcot will still uphold the ideals that it originally set out to explore. As times change, so will these rides.

If we see WS disappear, I'd be concerned. But I dont' think that's going to happen.

I think they realize that they need to make rides/attractions that will cater to every demographic.

I don't think they are turning into a thrill park persay. I think they are turning it into an environment where you can immerse yourself in the educational aspect of things, yet still be able to have loads of fun.

I think Epcot could be the worst of the main 4 WDW parks. It needs more rides IMO. Not necessarily fats and thrilling. I like the "Honey I shrunk the audience" ride though. I also like the World Fair. I don't think they will make Epcot into a more "extreme" park anytime soon.

I really don't think it's turning into a thrill park. It's just an educational park, where you can learn something new. Test Track I think it's educational but also fun, cause it teaches you about acceleration, and Science, etc.

It's amazing how whenever I see a post like this, I look at the profile and see a birthdate in the mid to late 80's.

Point blank...Epcot isn't aimed at teenagers...that was never the concept. It was aimed at adults trying to make a better world and show something to their children that they'd never seen.

Too bad the children....(yes - children) of today don't want to learn. They want to be force-fed action and entertainment with as little thinking as possible.

Branch out.

I like EPCOT, specifically WS. The rides are great, the shows and entertainment incredable, dining and shopping fantastic, and atmosphere some of the best. Future World... is another story. Test Track is fun, The Imagination Pavillion has a lot going for it, MouseGears is cool and Mission Space looks good, but I don't think I would go too much out of my way to see anything else. FW definatly needs work. Maybe not a ton of thrill rides, but something needs to be done.
