I'm auditioning for the Cruise Line!

For musical theatre do not pick songs from current shows, the panel will be sick of them, plus no matter how good you are, when standing in a bare audition room under a couple of fluorescent bulbs you can not compete with the fresh memories of a full scale production.

Find something you enjoy performing, is not too current and is nobody's signature tune - for example avoid "Over the Rainbow". You are right to also avoid Disney.

Hm... Good tips! Thanks. I guess I'm just eager to do some of the new stuff I've been hearing (just saw Scarlett Pimpernell last summer and LOVED it). I'll have to look through some of my old song books and see what I can dig up. I've had good luck with "Unexpected Song" but it's been a while! :)

We'll see!

In the mean time.... I have a monolouge to learn before my OTHER audition next week (for a local showing of "Book of Days").
