IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is almost 14 years old

Would you like to see this replaced? Or do you still enjoy it the way it is? I would've asked this about Fantasmic (nearly 15 years old) but that one still seems really popular and beloved. But with IllumiNations I get the feeling people are ready for something different. Thoughts?

I would like to see it upgraded and re-worked, but not completely removed. I love the score and I think of all three nighttime shows, it has the most emotional impact. I think we can all agree that the globe is not very impressive, and the extended sequence where nothing much happens besides the images on the globe and some fountains and lights is a huge weak point of the show. It would be cool to somehow work in some World of Color technology into the show to replace this segment.

Most people seem to think that Wishes and Fantasmic are more emotional, but I disagree. They're just tugging at your "Disney heartsrings", whereas IllumiNations: ROE is art, its beautiful, and has an actual statement to make.

Nope. It's timeless and beautiful. That said, it could use an upgrade to keep it up to date and make people come back. I would really hate to see it go completely.

I'd leave the show as is, but update/change the middle section to give it more pop. You can hardly see the screens on the globe from most places around the lagoon. Plus who wouldn't want more pyro?

I love the show, its is my favorite on the property. One thing they need to do, which Disney isnt good at, is a refurb to upgrade and enhance the show. I hope this comes in the near future because this year it hits its 5000th show.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great show with a beautiful and heart warming soundtrack. But it's just gone a little stale in my opinion. How amazing would it be if they were to upgrade it to something World of Color style, while also uniting the countries like they did back in the 90s? That, to me, is what IllumiNations SHOULD be about. Giving each of the countries their little 30 seconds to shine. They could still use the earth globe, although maybe update it if possible. It has missing pixels which drives me nuts, and the video is low res (if I'm allowed to say that about a one-of-a-kind piece of technology!). Epcot in 2015 could certainly have something better.

I actually like Wishes better  It gives me goosebumps and it amazes me every time, not that the pyro is anything spectacular. But fireworks behind the castle is just tradition and it makes it that much better. That's my "I'm really here" moment. And Tinker Bell doesn't fly over the World Showcase Lagoon :(;) We didn't have a great experience watching Illuminations either. We were in France and we had a drunk party beside us shouting and hollering over the music and it was rainy. I'd love to watch it again, but EPCOT isn't even in our plans for the next trip. I'd rather have another day at MK. :bored:OK don't shoot me please! I remember getting bored in the middle of the show, and wowed at the end, so perhaps they could add World of Color technology as a "birthday present" :) and exactly what luv said, whoever the heck is in charge of WDW nowadays would probably make it worse :grumpy:

Replace it! I really don't like this version. The music is okay, but I like the music from the late 80's early 90's version better. With the songs that represented music from the World Showcase countries it was a much better fit to the area.

Drunks at Epcot are a Pet Peeve of mine. Next time, give me a call. I'll stroller them out to the far end of the parking lot.

Or just turn and say, "Hey, Dave! Shut the (HECK) up!" He'll behave. He knows the power of the stroller. @PhotoDave219 ;) (Kidding. I'm sure Dave is not obnoxious when he drinks. I think. I hope. I have the stroller, just in case.)

Gee, thanks! :D

I think that's why our family has never had a good experience at EPCOT. It's god-awfully hot (heat index of 103* last time), rainy, and I feel like World Showcase is a giant bar (we don't drink)...especially at night. That's fine that people can enjoy themselves, but if they can't control themselves then it gets annoying. Last fall, we hopped on a bus from the Boardwalk to DTD after Illuminations and no doubt these ladies in their 30's just came from World Showcase and were heading for a party on the West Side in DTD. They were drunker than drunk. Lap dancing, pole dancing, yelling and cussing on a DISNEY bus...ya know millions of little kids around? It was ridiculous. The bus driver didn't say a word, but it was the fastest bus ride ever!! :P
