Let's see your best shots from Illuminations.

Let's also open it up to constructive criticism. It's nice to hear a bunch of "good shots", but it's more helpful (for me at least) if people state what I did wrong. If you'd rather others do not critique your shots, please say so.

I think I'm going to try the Japan/Upstairs shot next.... I've shot all these shows so many times, i get bored by them sometimes.

ISO 100 & f/16-f/18 seem to be the ballpark for the newer Nikon sensors.

Its pretty hard to get a long exposure shot during chaos as the flame blows out the scene.

Beyond that its just a matter of knowing the show and i dont think many people know the show better than you do as well as just making a nicely composed picture.

Ive shot this show from just about every country around WS and i think the best are Italy and America.

Japan and upstairs wasnt all that. Although i liked the super wide with the 14mm.

I don't know why everyone likes that spot so much for viewing. Saw the show in 2006, thought it was horribly pushed back and blocked by the Pagota, the trees and the Tori gate. Meh. I'd rather head to Italy.

It was the one spot I hadn't tried! :ROFLOL:

Maybe during christmas vacation I'll start writing a 'how-to' book....

Seriously, don't go!

You see the fireworks over the Tori, and around the Pagoda. The globe is pretty hard to make out, too.

For a RoE Freak like me, Not a good spot. I like having everything front and center.
