Illuminations farewell planning

So my husband and I are planning a day trip to epcot to see the last illuminations show on Sep 30. I will try to score fp's when the day opens up. Any idea of what we can expect? Enormous crowds, die hard Disney fans waiting for hours? I've heard rumours of an actual orchestra. Any other special things planned? I know it's f&w so it will be packed already. I'll bring the tissues, I think my husband will need them😀. He's so sad to see it go. Not bringing my kids, too dark and crowded. It won't mean anything to them anyway, they're 8 and 10. Anyone else got big plans for the last show? Are there groups wanting to meet others to say goodbye? Sorry I know it's a lot of questions. Thanks.

I’d say it’s 100% definite that it’ll be crazy crowded in Epcot that night. Either score the FP, or plan on staying out a spot as early as you can your husband are comfortable with.
