has anyone ever gotten fallout from illuminations in their eyes because the last time I was there something actually burnt my eye a bit and it hurt. Was wondering if anyone else has had that happen.

I've had fallout hot my shirt before. But considering the probably 25+ times I've been to illuminations that's pretty rare.

We've had bits of "fallout" hit us. It left a colored stain on skin (washed off in the shower) and on clothes (not as easily washed out, but eventually it did). But when it hits your skin, it burns and is annoying. Not much you can do about this, other than to ensure you are not downwind of the fireworks.

I've had some fallout from Illuminations on windier evenings but never anything burning. I've experienced much more fallout on the fireworks displays that occur over the castle.

Probably about three or fours ago we were watching Illuminations next to the Rose & Crown Pub and a piece of an actual shell landed in my hair. No joke!

It was big enough for the CM that stands there to see and everyone reacting drew attention to it. It didn't hurt or burn me or anything like that. Still ... Pretty unexpected to say the least. Just glad it didn't land in my beer :)

Burning? Matter of that size and makeup would be be cooled to ambient temperature by the time it would reach guest level. It would no longer be hot.

It happens! Our wedding reception was on the UK Terrace and after Illuminations ended, we realized we were COVERED in ash. My dress was silver, so thankfully it didn't damage anything!

You are completely incorrect about this. Let me splain -

A few years ago I was visiting WDW over Christmas, when they have the special tag on the end of IllumiNations (formerly with Walter Cronkite's voice - very very cool!). I was standing in my usual spot in front of the Canada pavilion, enjoying the end of the show, when I felt a sharp pain on my head. A few seconds later I realized MY HAIR WAS ON FIRE! I reached up and slapped it all out with very little real damage. I kinda dazedly asked the guy next to me if he'd seen that, and he said "Dude, you had 2 feet of flames shooting up!" I stopped off at First Aid to get a bit of ointment for a small burn on my forehead. They of course had to fill out paperwork on the injury. I was willing to let it all go, but about a week later I received a phone call from Disney Legal, wanting to know what happened and what they could do to make it right. I settled for a few bucks and a non-disclosure agreement.

So it can happen!
