I'm not sure that even their biggest boat will allow 10+ people though. But if you can, it is one heck of an experience.
The pontoon boats all accommodate up to 10 Guests (plus the driver). I've taken three Illuminations Cruises over the years, all as part of the RADP Meets. They were great fun.
Unfortunately, Disney has made some changes over the past few years, and unfortunately, I don't think it's for the better (unless you're worried about Disney's bottom line) First off, Disney realized that the cruises were routinely booked solid with more and more people wanting to take them.
So, they jacked up the price. For our group of 10, it was about $15 per person, including a tip for the driver.
I just looked up the archived copy of AllEars, and in Dec 2004 the price was $120+tax. It's currently $235+tax. That's almost a doubling of price in 3 years! (The price crept up to $140 in early 2005, then jumped to its current price by August 2005)
The other big change involves food and drinks. For the current $235 price, soda and bagged snacks are included. But, they don't allow you to bring along your own food or drinks. Anything extra must be purchased through the Yacht Club's Private Dining. I don't think that adding chips, pretzels and soda is worth an extra $115.
The last time I took a Cruise, back in December 2004, we brought along a cooler full of soda and beer (we were all 21+), as well as cupcakes and cookies. This was all allowed at the time.
Back in 2004, you could get a *decorated* birthday pontoon boat including cake and soda for $220. That appears to be $258 now.
So yeah, if the current prices are fine for your budget, I say go for it.
But compared to what we USED to pay (and used to be able to bring along) I probably will never take a Cruise again.
(My only exception would be a romantic cruise in the Breathless, whose cost has virtually stayed the same over the years at $179.)
