God's voice was heard over the loudspeakers. I didn't realize God needed a loudspeaker, but his voice was crisp, clear, soothing, and clear: Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, is Dead....for tonight.

That's what I thought. So how could the globe be worked on that morning?

I don't not trust the OP, but there is nothing on the other sites about ROE tonight. ROE NEVER goes down.

I DO trust the OP (with my life) and can guarantee (I am in the park) that the cancellation of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, has indeed been cancelled this evening. It was announced over the PA system (could have been the Lord, but he didn't announce himself by name) at 6 pm and 7 pm.

I'm not surprised they cancelled either. I live about 9 miles due east of EPCOT and it has been extremely windy the last 4-5 hours. These are actually the heaviest winds we've had since the storm started moving through.

Just out of curiousity, when its cancelled how do people know when to leave the park. Do they start playing Promise or Tapestry of Nations over the speakers?

It is very VERY rarely cancelled. Infact, I cant even recall a time when it was totally cancelled.

Wishes cancelation

Wishes has been suffering the same type of fate recently. On tuesday only the fireworks behind the castle from the bunker were shot; none of the ones inside the park inline with the castle. This was primarily due to the high winds.

On wednesday all the fireworks went but today, (thursday) none of the fireworks for wishes were shown. This was primarily due to the heavy rain.

Hay! I'm here in WDW.
On Wed (8/20) I arrived at Epcot, hope to see the show. They run the show but they announced "Tonight show will be modified from its original version..." I saw the show and found that there was no any pyro. Only the Big bang, fountain, laser and the globe was operated that night.

And today (8/21) I went to the Magic kingdom. The weather was more bad than yesterday. It's thunder storm. I saw many umbrellas were flow backward and my poncho was torn by the wind! And then... as everyone in the park can guess, they cancelled the Wishes. I've just know that they cancelled the illumination too.

But at least because the rain, I can do all the major attractions of MK with NO or very short wait. I've finished ALL the attraction in adventureland, frontierland, the haunted mansion, it's small world and Mickey's philhar in only 3 hours! (9-12 pm) This include time I walked "right down the middle of main street U.S.Aaaa aa" just for took some pics. After that in the afternoon the weather was getting better. There were some peroids of sunny sky (I had to "back inline" in nearly all attractions again) before turn into T-strom in the evening.

:ROFLOL: Yeah, and besides... he uses burning bushes, not lagoon-side torches. :D

Certainly was the weather. I heard from my parents that people were not going to the parks because of the wind last night.

Holy schnickies! I didn't realize that Fay was still beating around in Central Florida until I read this thread! From what I had been watching early in the week, they showed Fay coming through there on Wed. and then suspected it being up the East Coast, at least into Gerogia and the Carolinas by late Thurs.
I just checked NOAA and there is very little "Cone" - more like just a hazy circle around Fay showing that it could go anywhere in the next couple of days. Even more interesting is that the latest advisory says that little to no change in strength is forecast over the next 24hrs.!
Yikes! I hope it moves along so that all the current guests can get on with enjoying their vacations!
