Iger's compensation dropped slightly to $43.9 million in 2016

No it's a chance to question why US executives are grossly overcompensated relative to their European and Asian counterparts who manage to make a profit while not laying of thousands of workers at the drop of a hat and who have to deal with mandatory vacations of 2-8 weeks.

That's the reason I find this so annoying. Do US CEO's deserve this amount of money? No, not really. But the whole cycle continues unabated.

Great. So why not cut Iger's salary to a measly 5 million/year?

Why not? Because the man has to be able to feed his family, you know.

Let's not forget about those stock options, and the existing 1.4 million shares of DIS stock he holds. He could easily, EASILY, forgo 99% of his current compensation and not even bat an eyelash.
