Rumors are screaming online that Bob Iger is trying to bring back the Disney Animation division that was closed by Eisner, putting thousands of people out of jobs. This seems to tie in with the rumors of the return of the backstage tour ride. Rumors seem to point towareds the tram going through an actual interactive animatio building where the animations guide you and interact with you (Mcuh like Turtle Talk with Crush and Dory)

Source: Skimmed through on a website, can't rmember which one because I had searched to see if this was true.

Chicken Little was a joint production made completely by a Disney ordered group just to make this movie.

Yeah, which means that Chicken Little is an in-house production from Walt Disney Pictures. So, Feature Animation can't be closed!

I really hate to destroy everyone's hopes, but word is coming out of Australia that, following the completion of Cinderella 3, that DisneyToon Studios will close, thus ending the 2D animation division at The Walt Disney Company.

This is available at Cartoon Brew. I don't know how relaible the source is, but he says that he works for DisneyToon Studios Australia...

Only time will tell for sure, though.

I thought Eisner had plans of closing Feature Animation down, but Roy Disney fought to keep it open.. With the success of a few movies, FA was kept open.. The only decision was to close the animation studio in Florida and keep everything centralized in Burbank.. Correct me if I am wrong...

Maybe the OP meant to say that the department of FA in Florida would be brought back by Iger... Wouldn't hold my breath though...

Agreed! Even if they wanted to repoen FA in FL, it would be tough and would take a long time to get the quality Animators that they would need. Many have left Orlando or are happy in positions with other companies.

Yeppers... Most likely Dreamworks... Here is another tidbit though.. I heard Disney was actually looking for animators in the Orlando area.. Don't know how true it is since I couldn't read a post or listing with this information.. I was told by a friend who lives in Orlando, so take it with a grain of salt...

It was never fully shut down. They only did away with traditional animation and either switched everyone to computer animation or were let go. It was more of a consolidation (with all animators in Burbank now) rather then a complete closing, but this was only for feature animtion in Burbank, Orlando, and I beleive Paris at the time.

*Don't hold me to this, but this is how I remember hearing about it.

That rumor has been going on for a while now, I am pretty confident that there is no truth to it.

What about India?

Uhh... this Iger-speak sounds a little far-fetched.
