Iger looking to get rid if ABC

On one hand I think that TV networks are a dying breed.
On the other hand, anything that reduces the size of Disney is a bad deal for anyone connected to Disney. Why? Well, the smaller the company, the easier it is to buy one of the few icons in USA left. If Disney's net value were half of it's current value, I imagine it's days as an independent entity would be numbered.

Sometime in the future, network tv will probably be obsolete. But I don't think that will necessarily be anytime soon. There are still plenty of baby boomers out there who watch good ol' fashioned television.

Bob Iger is supposedly a pretty forward looking guy when it comes to technology, so when the time comes to move to a more direct "on demand" internet based type of media, Disney will probably be one of the first to do so. But until these corporations figure out a good solid way to make money off of things like that, I don't see why they'd be in such a hurry to drop ABC.
