No he was an idiot that listened to a frat brother.Did he used to wear a trench coat and hang around with the 'Dark side of Disney' crew?

Frankly I would guess he was passed out drunk and his "buddies" placed the plush animals around him... I can't see any reason that a drunk guy would surround himself with animals.Drunk man was found passed out inside the Impressions of France theatre surrounded by Disney plush at 2:30am almost 5 years ago. About 9 Security CMs and management approached him after he was spotted by a utilities CM. He begged Disney not to alert anyone but this was a serious breach of security. Turns out that he was a keynote speaker at an event the next day for a conference his company sent him to. Disney chose not to press charges but they did ban him and he was most likely fired from his company for this stunt. This story wasn't publicized but it circulated quickly around 3rd shift CMs.
Still not sure why he had gathered plush from the France store and placed it around him.
I may be wrong but did work on fingerprint biometrics for about 4 years and I believe the gate readers are optic fingerprint scanners. They use the print image to build a mathematical model of the minutiae of the fingerprint mapping out and triangulating where the lines (Ridges) that make up a fingerprint either end or split (bifurcation). The scan is then discarded and the model is used to match. The stored model is compared to the new sample model and return a score 0-99 higher is more confidence. A system sets a ' threshold of decision ' score to accept any match higher and reject a lower score. This is how fingerprint biometrics work. They never actually match images of fingerprints.
Well according to the CM that found him, he wasn't there 30 minutes earlier. Somehow he wondered in while the CM in that area was on break and when he returned he found him.Frankly I would guess he was passed out drunk and his "buddies" placed the plush animals around him... His new bride was clueless as to his ban. She was also furious she can never go to Disney again because of him.
So what did they end up doing?
They ended up doing nothing she could not have the honeymoon trip she wanted so they opted to not take one.Im thinking maybe it's been long enough now he might be able to get a lawyer and get unbanned. So what did they end up doing?

Doesn't that kind of confirm what everybody is saying?. It's not a fingerprint scanner... this is pretty common knowledge. I don't think the fingerprint plays into it at all.
No, it only confirms that people don't seem to really understand the technology.
Fair enough, I suppose. But the basics of what people are saying is true. It's not a fingerprint scanner. It seemed that people were saying it was a bio metric scanner and you were saying it was a fingerprint scanner. I don't know anything about it either way, so I won't pretend to. I just know that I've always been told it doesn't scan fingerprints.
No, the basics of what they are saying is absolutely untrue. As I've previously stated, vascular imaging and fingerprint imaging are both biometric imaging methods. Disney's scanners do not do infrared imaging, and therefor can not be vascular scanners. They capture an image of a fingerprint and convert the fingerprint image to a hash using a number of pre-defined points that are applied to every image.
What you've been told is that it doesn't store fingerprints, and that's true. Disney stores a numeric hash when you're enrolled that is calculated from an image of your fingerprint right before the image is discarded.
I seriously doubt they actually enforce the ban, I've know too many people that were given "life time bans" from places that will end up back within months and in one case even got a job where they were banned. Not saying you wouldn't have to wait a while, but I seriously doubt they would do anything other than have you name on a list that wouldn't be allowed to buy APs or things that would clearly be stored in their computer. Given they only take a few points on your finger and are trying to make sure that someone's finger is close to the original scanned finger I would expect their system is limited in the actual number of different prints it has on file and would not be surprised if numerous people had the same coded print on file, but the number is just so large that the odds of you using someone else's ticket and having the same print are very small.... Given the FBI's own internal report said their system gave false matches 10% of the time I can't see Disney having a better system. As for photographs, I'm sure they have them of people that are banned, probably even keep them, but I don't think they are going to install the equipment in the parks to actually do facial recognition of every guest in the park it would be very expensive, have limited value and once the public found out (which they would) would be a PR nightmare when some privacy groups got word.
In the end I expect they ban the person, tell them they will be charged with trespassing if they show up again, and don't do much beyond that expecting the paranoia and fear to keep the person from returning.
Oh I'm sure they keep a list of people that are banned, but I really don't think they go to some of the extremes that people on the board think they go to, such as facial recognition technology or finger scans. I would suspect after a few years when the majority of the people involved when you were banned had lost a bit of memory that you could probably go right in with a day ticket and be fairly safe unless you did something to draw attention to yourself.Disney is actually pretty good about enforcing trespass bans. They don't just hand them out for petty reasons, so they're generally pretty serious about it.

I would say Adam pretty much did the ultimate stupid move when he posted his face all over his youtube videos, that was probably more effective at getting his image ingrained into the minds of the security guards than if Disney or Universal had posted a photo of him in the security locker room. Even so, I would expect if he shaved he could probably waltz back in so long as he didn't start doing the selfie stuff to draw attention to himself as most people probably recognize him only with the beard and mustache.Adam The Woo might have some insight on how the trespass process works. I think you're right that they don't have any facial recognition, that's very expensive and provides little value over the existing investment in the short and long range rfid tech in the magic band.

Quite possible! I'm sure he wasn't in there to begin with because they do several sweeps of these areas after the park closes. So I'm thinking he wondered in from the I.G. area undetected. Many joggers jump the low gate back there in the early morning thinking they can just jog around the park but they are always stopped immediately. That is pretty impressive. That he could be drink enough to pass out, but still somehow evade detectionin EPCOT until 2:00 AM or so, including getting into a gift shop and taking plush toys. Maybe he thought they were soft and would make a good bed to sleep on, but still if you are so blitzed that you think that is a good idea, how the heck to stay undetected until 2:00 AM unless you were passed out in a bush somewhere.
