Next week I'm going to WDW for the first time me and my girlfriend would you just go to magic kingdom or get the hopper pass? My understanding is the tickets are just Good for one day? Anything for multi day? The price adds up fast
Yes there are multiday passes...
You can buy passes for anywhere from 1-10 days of admission. All days must be used within 14 days of first use. Additional days get cheaper as you add them.
You can add on a hopper feature to the tickets. It applies to everyday on the ticket.
You can add water parks feature which lets you use water parks during your 14 days too.
If you're going for the first time (and only have one day) then I'd forget any ideas about hopping and concentrate all your efforts on one park - my suggestion would be MKBut for a single day the hopper pass is not worth it?

Ok so we agreed on MK now my question is the fast pass is that something that I have to get at the main gate? Seeing this and how the wait times normally are it would not be possible to see everything in one day..
And seeing how the weather is for next week how does it work out with thunderstorms?
Disney's Fastpass+ is a ride reservation system. It is included with admission. It isn't like front of the line passes at other parks. Those guests staying in a Disney property can book Fastpass+ at 60 days out and offsite guests can book at 30 days out. You will need to download the my Disney experience app and link your tickets and then book your fastpasses as soon as possible. You can also do this on the website. You are already at a disadvantage because most onsite and offsite guests have already booked. If you wait until the day of your visit to buy tickets and book fastpasses you may find that very few selections are left. You will more than likely be facing long standby lines. While WDW can be done spontaneously you have to understand that the majority started planning at least 180 days out. I hope this helps. Enjoy you day.So having said that because we still can't decide what day we are going Tue or Wed I assume if we just go to MK we can get the tickets at the gate the same price as the web? And get FP+? I'm still a little confused on how it works I'm not sure if it's sometime I have to do on my part to reserve or it's just moving you ahead with people that don't have it.. normally you have a extra charge for that feature.
Also with rain showing in the forecast for next week I'm sure that's going to play a part in which day we go.
Man you are right about that FL heat and humidy.. If I was not able to book the hunted mansion and get in AC my gf was close to fainting I got her one of those misting fans but the humidity was so much.. ended up buying like 3 bottles of water because the tap water was a little funny tasting an odd aftertaste that I could not finish my sweet tea I got from over at that carousel.I just took friends from out of town that were only here for one day to all 4 parks. We started at 9am at AK, then took a shuttle to Hstudios, then took the boat over to epcot, then caught the monorail to MK, and ended the night there. We were able to hit a good amount of rides at each park using the FP+. It was actually super fun, but the heat was brutal. If that seems to much and you only want to do ONE park, since its your first time Id recommend MK. Buy your tix in advance and mess around with the FP+ app, who knows you might even score reservations at Be Our Guest! Good luck and have an awesome trip!
So here is what we did we went to the window to get the tickets and got the FP+ I linked it to the bands.. OK it was good until I ran into the limitations of the band and no one told me that after hours it's restricted to only guests that are staying at the resorts it was kind of a turn off how the lady said "I'm sorry I can't let you in" and I told her before she used the scanner on the band that I was not staying at the location but she scanned anyways.
Now since we only did MK I think the ride I enjoyed the most was Space mountain It was a bit hard because I had my girlfriend's backpack plus I had just stopped at the Chamber of Commerce to pick up the gifts so I had another bag and I had to stuff myself on the ride which was a bit awkward. The only thing I don't like is when it was time for the Electric parade.. How are they going to enforce staying on the other side of the white tape if the lights go down? I lost my spot because she got hungry and she did not want hot dogs or hamburgers.. speaking of that the one near Space mountain had no taste at all. The fireworks was amazing as well as the projection on the castle.
Also talking to some of the crew how they liked their jobs (my GF is a people person) It was really cool to see the inside.
