Next week I'm going to WDW for the first time me and my girlfriend would you just go to magic kingdom or get the hopper pass? My understanding is the tickets are just Good for one day? Anything for multi day? The price adds up fast

Yes there are multiday passes...

You can buy passes for anywhere from 1-10 days of admission. All days must be used within 14 days of first use. Additional days get cheaper as you add them.

You can add on a hopper feature to the tickets. It applies to everyday on the ticket.

You can add water parks feature which lets you use water parks during your 14 days too.

But for a single day the hopper pass is not worth it?

Ok so we agreed on MK now my question is the fast pass is that something that I have to get at the main gate? Seeing this and how the wait times normally are it would not be possible to see everything in one day..

And seeing how the weather is for next week how does it work out with thunderstorms?

Fast pass can be booked in advance if you buy your tickets in advance. It would be done online up 30 days in advance. Otherwise it can be done day of at the park. Not sure where the kiosks are these days as it can all be done on your phone if you have tickets and set up an account on your phone.

You won't see everything in one day. Repeat. You won't see everything in one day. Prioritize what you want to see and you can see most everything. But summer crowds might make that hard.

Thunderstorms are an act of God. If they come, you'll either hide out until they pass or get soaked or both. Bring your valuables in plastic bags.

For us we like going to the MK and taking in the atmosphere. We go on some rides and have a few meals and enjoy ourselves. And we know we'll go again and see what we missed.

Glad I've never faced this situation bc I love MK and Epcot. If I had to make a choice I'd go to MK early in the morning and park hop to Epcot between 2-4 ride a few rides there than watch the fireworks and eat and drink there.

I have on several occasions, in theory, plotted out hitting all four parks in one day. (thus getting a park hopper on a 1 day ticket). It's a fun exercise. But the reality is, you spend so much time traveling between parks, you are wasting time you could spend on attractions. So I definitely would just concentrate on a single park. Magic Kingdom is the obvious choice for a first-time visit. Epcot would be the other logical choice but not nearly as good. And the remarks about the fact that you CANNOT see everything in one day is quite true. So make a priority list and hit it early.

So having said that because we still can't decide what day we are going Tue or Wed I assume if we just go to MK we can get the tickets at the gate the same price as the web? And get FP+? I'm still a little confused on how it works I'm not sure if it's sometime I have to do on my part to reserve or it's just moving you ahead with people that don't have it.. normally you have a extra charge for that feature.

Also with rain showing in the forecast for next week I'm sure that's going to play a part in which day we go.

I just took friends from out of town that were only here for one day to all 4 parks. We started at 9am at AK, then took a shuttle to Hstudios, then took the boat over to epcot, then caught the monorail to MK, and ended the night there. We were able to hit a good amount of rides at each park using the FP+. It was actually super fun, but the heat was brutal. If that seems to much and you only want to do ONE park, since its your first time Id recommend MK. Buy your tix in advance and mess around with the FP+ app, who knows you might even score reservations at Be Our Guest! Good luck and have an awesome trip!

Disney's Fastpass+ is a ride reservation system. It is included with admission. It isn't like front of the line passes at other parks. Those guests staying in a Disney property can book Fastpass+ at 60 days out and offsite guests can book at 30 days out. You will need to download the my Disney experience app and link your tickets and then book your fastpasses as soon as possible. You can also do this on the website. You are already at a disadvantage because most onsite and offsite guests have already booked. If you wait until the day of your visit to buy tickets and book fastpasses you may find that very few selections are left. You will more than likely be facing long standby lines. While WDW can be done spontaneously you have to understand that the majority started planning at least 180 days out. I hope this helps. Enjoy you day.

Buy your tickets already. It's probably best to stick to one park since you haven't been to Disney before. There will be plenty to do. Set up your account like others have said, link the ticket and try to book some rides to save on time. Book a few rides for late morning or early afternoon and arrive right when the park opens. Usually 9am but sometimes it does open at 8. You can ride a few rides with little wait as the parks fill up. I like to go in and make a left and head to Adventureland and continue on to Frontierland. I can knock out Magic Carpets of Aladain, Jungle Cruise, Pirates and Splash very quickly and we practically walk on to those rides. Usually within an hour to an hour and half. I try to go during slower times, the summer crowds might make it take longer. Take very comfortable shoes. I can not to stress that enough. Don't bring a new pair, bring a very broken pair of sneakers. You will be doing a whole lot of walking. It's summer, so more than likely it will rain. Many rides will remain open, but those that are outdoors may close down. As long as there is no lighting you can keep going. Bring ponchos for you and the Mrs. Disney is expensive and they charge a lot for them.

So here is what we did we went to the window to get the tickets and got the FP+ I linked it to the bands.. OK it was good until I ran into the limitations of the band and no one told me that after hours it's restricted to only guests that are staying at the resorts it was kind of a turn off how the lady said "I'm sorry I can't let you in" and I told her before she used the scanner on the band that I was not staying at the location but she scanned anyways.

Now since we only did MK I think the ride I enjoyed the most was Space mountain It was a bit hard because I had my girlfriend's backpack plus I had just stopped at the Chamber of Commerce to pick up the gifts so I had another bag and I had to stuff myself on the ride which was a bit awkward. The only thing I don't like is when it was time for the Electric parade.. How are they going to enforce staying on the other side of the white tape if the lights go down? I lost my spot because she got hungry and she did not want hot dogs or hamburgers.. speaking of that the one near Space mountain had no taste at all. The fireworks was amazing as well as the projection on the castle.

Also talking to some of the crew how they liked their jobs (my GF is a people person) It was really cool to see the inside.

Man you are right about that FL heat and humidy.. If I was not able to book the hunted mansion and get in AC my gf was close to fainting I got her one of those misting fans but the humidity was so much.. ended up buying like 3 bottles of water because the tap water was a little funny tasting an odd aftertaste that I could not finish my sweet tea I got from over at that carousel.

If I had just the one day I would and have not been to WDW before definitely go to MK and I would not get the hopper I think the travelling will just take time away where you could be enjoying attractions, make sure you pick a day when extra magic hours are not running to maximise time in the park.

Totally sorry we didn't explain about EMH. Yes as you learned they are only for hotel guests. But you magic band still works. If you go another time and link a new ticket to it, it will work. Don't throw it out.

Glad you had fun!
