If you didn't do a Fantasmic Dining Pkg...how early in advance would one have to get in line to get a decent seat for Fantasmic? FYI we're talking non-Thanksgiving November time-frame.

Thanks!

45-60 minutes. Unless things have changed drastically.

I just got back from WDW three days ago. Unfortunately, things have changed with Fantasmic. If you choose standby, then you will not be admitted into the theatre until ten minutes before the show. Then you have two choices - you can stand or you can sit in the bleachers located all the way in the back of the theatre behind the main bowl, which provides a terrible view. The main bowl is now filled entirely with Fastpass+ guests and those who booked Fantasmic dining packages.

So it appears they "create" lots of FP+ for it. Interesting, I would have guessed they would leave most open to standby lines. But I guess it plays into the FP+ design in a way to reserve more space for them.

I've seen Fantasmic a few times. I just love it! Anyway, one year we seemed to walk right up to it and get in, another year no such luck. I don't remember what happened but we were not able to get in. I was very disappointed, so on our trip last year I wanted to insure we didn't miss it so we did the dinner package. It was great for getting into the show, but you have to eat at an odd time, like 3:00 in the afternoon.

If they are offering 2 shows go to the 2nd if you are able. Traditionally a much smaller crowd. I haven't been since last Nov. Hopefully FP+ hasn't made the second show standby undesireable as well.

It's

It's a off park day for us so we are not using FP+ for anything else really that day. If we feel like we just don't want to go then we will cancel it.

Gotcha. We didn't plan any of those... maybe we should have lol.

But yeah, if the second show is that much less crowded, I may be able to still get a FP+ for it that evening. If not, we'll see how crowded the walk up line is if and when we decide to check it out. It'll be what it'll be, and I'm good with that. It sounds cool and all, but I don't want to not have access to extra fastpasses during the day because of it.

We try to have a off day in the middle of the week to relax. Plus since it rains so much it's good to have a free day to move stuff around the rest of the week if needed.
