Yeah, I am pretty sure you can always add on the extras. As long as a room is booked (the most important) then they can add to it. To double check just call them up and ask that specific question.:)

Actually, last time I booked I asked this question. They have a limited number of "packages". So you may find that you can't add DDP later. Tickets aren't a problem. Now, I had no problem doing what you are hoping to do, but they did warn me that the option isn't always available.

If you book a room only now, you can always upgrade to a magic your way package at anytime prior to your trip and add the dining plan and tickets at a later date. The dining plan can only be added to a magic your way package. Magic Your Way packages never have a "limited number" of packages, only the special promotions like the free dining promotions do. You can always upgrade your room only package to a magic your way package and add your extras to that.

Yes you can, sort of................ The answer is that you can switch out a room only reservation for a package reservation including tickets, dining plan etc. at any time. Room only reservations are made through one system at Disney and packages are done through another so you may have to cancel the room only and wait for a refund, and have to put down a deposit on the package as well. The Dining plans are not limited and can be added to any package at any time. As previously mentioned if a special discount is offered the number of packages including the dining may be limited at that price though. Hope this clears things up!!! Belle

We booked room only and added on our tickets just before we went cause they matched the disney store prices we were going to pay anyway. so much easier all in one place. Also, had to cancel our room only and then re-book with the package.

Once you add the DDP to your reservation, it's no longer "room only" since the DDP is indeed a MYW package; therefore you are going to need to purchase tickets (1-day base tickets at the minimum) for each member of your party as well at the time of "upgrade".

We've "sorta" done this before, especially since Disney expects you to pay off EVERYTHING 45 days before hand. We normally book a package and just have 1-day base tickets. After we check-in, we upgrade out tickets to 7-day park hoppers/water park and more tickets. For just two people, the difference in tickets was $520ish; and it was nice having those extra 45 days to save up for it!

We usually end up capitalizing on packages rather than room only due to better savings; so haven't had to upgrade a room only reservation.
