If what happened to Target would happen to Disney

Target is now confirming that the crooks obtained access to PIN info as well. Again, I charged online and Target stated these accounts were not affected but the way they keep releasing pertinent info belatedly, I am going to keep a close eye on my account. If you think about it, there has to be a more secure way to conduct business.

Senior managers at Target need to go to jail over this one, Now we know why Chase limited cards involved at Target because the attackers had enough data to drain the accounts.

Until senior management is held PERSONALLY ACCOUNTABLE for these breaches nothing will happen, I remember when I was still wet behind ears my boss was named to the BOD of our company, I of course congratulated him on his 'promotion' - His comment stays with me to this day "It's not a promotion now I can be sued personally for actions of the company"

It seems with the giant paychecks there should be a degree of personal responsibility as well, If a server has a party who skips out on check - SERVER PAYS, if a cashier has a till that does not balance they are sacked, If a senior executive has a policy which causes millions in fraud losses - nothing happens there is a problem here.

If I have this right, the PIN information is heavily encrypted. I'd assume that the encryption key uses the credit card number, meaning that the hackers would have to A. figure out how Target derives the key, and B. use that key on all 10,000 possible PINs for each credit card until they find a match. Part A doesn't sound like an easy job.

True, but they (the experts) are advising to get a new card and set up a new PIN regardless (http://money.cnn.com/2013/12/27/technology/target-pin/index.html). What a mess.

There is no information stored on the Key to the World card or the MagicBand.
exactly...pretty sure bands/card just associate with your room...which is then associated with your card as a backup to insure you will pay in the end. We almost always charge everything to the room...then just settle up...it's always easier that way.
