If there was a Disney Hall of Fame, who/what would be in there?

Try and picture it like a regular Hall of Fame. Whether it be Baseball, hockey, Rock and Roll, Football or whatever. Who are the people who would be in there? What attractions would be in there? What movies would be in there? Think of it like any other HOF, there are voters who decide whether the inductees were great enough or made enough of an impact on the company/parks.

The people (hey I know I'll miss a lot of them):
Walt Disney
Roy Disney
Michael Eisner
Roy Disney Jr.

The movies:
Snow White
Bambi
Dumbo
Pinnochio
Cinderella
Sleeping Beauty
Jungle Book
Little Mermaid
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin
Lion King
Finding Nemo

The attractions including all parks:
Pirates
Haunted Mansion
Thunder Mountain
Space Mountain
Matterhorn
Carousel of Progress
Hall of Presidents
Small World
Peter Pan
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Cinderella's Carousel
Indiana Jones
Jungle Cruise

Some favourites like Mickey's Philharmagic and such don't make the cut. There hasn't been enough time that the attraction has been in service. Stuff like Country Bear Jamboree and Snow White don't make it either, even though if I was on the voting committee it would. Too much hate for either ride, why start a controversy? Disney has lacked in movies recently, and the newer ones have yet to make a lasting impact.

So how is this HOF? What is a notable omission? Do you agree with the original selections?

What a great topic ...

Since, let's face it, we could probably come up with a couple hundred things that deserve to be in a Disney Hall of Fame, I'll give out my "inaugural class" of ten:

Walt Disney
Mickey Mouse
Donald Duck
Dave Smith
The Abraham Lincoln AA
Snow White (the film)
Jack Wagner
The Disneyland Monorail
When You Wish Upon A Star (the song)
Pirates of the Caribbean (the ride)

Yes feel free to add the characters in there as well. Something I didn't do in the OP. If that's the case Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald and Pluto are locks.

The Toy Story movies. Yes the movies have been weak lately. But this series has made an impact on all things Disney.

You gotta heve Ub Iwerks and the films "Mary Poppins" and "Fantasia" in an inaugural class. If you don't, then it is as legit as Abba in the Rock Hall (not very).
Attractions- the Railroad should be in also.

Amen to good ol' Thurl - the man!

After watching the special on Disney live action films this past weekend on TCM (The Age of Believing: The Disney Live Action Classics) you gotta add some of these people to the Disney Hall Of Fame:

Hayley Mills
Kevin Corcoran
Dean Jones
Kurt Russell
James MacArthur
Fred MacMurray

Maybe D,ick Van , Angela Lansbury, others (?)

And most definitely the Sherman Brothers!

(funny how the forum software replaces Mr. Van 's first name with a blank unless I break it up with a character : ) - but I understand)

Doesn't this already exist, only called Disney Legends?

Sort of. Disney Legends is more of a "career achievement" award (for lack of a better phrase) and I wouldn't really describe it as a HOF because many of the award winners aren't really that famous or well-known.

For example, the Golden Girls have been selected as Disney Legends. It was a fine show on ABC, and the women were certainly good actresses, but they are not anywhere near the first thing I think of when I think of the most famous things in Disney History. A similar example (I just randomly went in and picked out a name I didn't recognize) would be Antonio Bertini who "expanded merchandising from 30 to nearly 100 licensees, which produced various Disney-themed products for the Italian marketplace, while the Company's income base increased from an estimated $74-million to $300-million, annually" - he basically handled Disney merchandising in Italy for 25 years. Important? Probably. Laudable? Sure, but certainly not HOF-worthy, in my opinion.

Huh? What's up with 13?

Disney doesn't own Miramax anymore.

That is unfortunately true but it was the first Disney-Miramax film so I think it deserves a place in the hall no matter who the owner is. In a sense Disney gave the finances for Miramax films. Even though those Weinstein boys did run their company on their own but technically they can still be considered Disney films.
