If the gates close . . .

Myself and my wifey and our 2 year old are thinking about going to the Magic Kingdom on Thursday (the 27th). Usually when we go for the day we leave the park at noon and go over to the wilderness lodge pools where our son takes a nap in his stroller while we just relax. But, I have never been at the Parks over Christmas - and I have heard that sometimes the gates close when the parks reach capacity. Does this mean that if we get there in the morning and get into the MK, but then leave at lunch time, that we might not be able to get back into MK?

For all its worth: the 27th is my son's birthday, and a couple of years ago we planned on having a birthday dinner for him inside the Magic Kingdom. We had dinner reservations, and there were several people coming from different locations. The park closed for capacity that afternoon, and none of us could get into the park in time for the dinner reservations. That includes two family members who had been in the Magic Kingdom earlier and then gone over to Epcot for a few hours.

That being said, I was at the Magic Kingdom yesterday (Sunday the 23rd) for most of the afternoon, and I didn't think the park was particularly crowded. The parking lot was nowhere near full. That's purely anecdotal on my part, but maybe you'll be lucky and the park won't hit capacity.

The parks have a 4 point closure plan with restrictions to different guests as capacity is reached. To be sure of enjoying MK during the evening hours - don't leave the park duting the day.

It is a possibility, so why chance it? If he'll sleep in the stroller, by all means let him. Find a relativrly quiet spot and let him nap then. I'm not sure how long a nap he's used to, but you can always duck into CoP and spend some time there letting him nap or ride around on the TTA.
Have a wonderful trip!

If he's gonna sleep in the stroller, why not just duck into the Child Care Center, where you two can relax and he can sleep in the relative quiet? That way you won't have to worry about not being able to return later.
