If it were your choice, where would you put the next Disney park?

.... It can be anywhere in the world....

...except your backyard... you have to share! lol

I would say Washington, DC. I know that there was a "Disney's America" park planned there before but got scratched.

I even made a map and laid all the rides out for the Magc Kingdom.... but it's.. really.... screwed... up.. lol. Like, flipped around..

Oh! I'm going off the subject.... so yeah, DC!!!;)

I'm sorry, I still don't get what you're saying...
You mean a whole new Disney World in D.C? Or a resort in Disney World themed as D.C?

A Disney park in DC....

The Disney America thing was a park that was originally planned for the DC area but it was dropped because the local farmers wouldn't give up the land..

:D

Well, sicne they have parks in Califronia and Florida, they should have one towards the middle of MArica. I'd have to say Texas somewhere, cuz it's nice and hot there, plus it'll be close for Texans and other people in the Great Planes area.

I agree with TheOneVader. I would put it somewhere in the middle of the country. Folks on either coast have an easier time of it getting to a Disney park. Texas sounds find to me. I would imagine that there would be plenty of space. What about Southern Illinois? Smack dab in the middle of the country. It's very pretty there with cliffs to go rappling down. Caves to go exploring. Lots of lakes. Not overly built up. Did I mention lots of lakes? Near the Mississippi.

Just a thought.

I would keep em just in Orlando and California. It's more special with only the two resort areas. Besides, people up north here wouldn't appreciate it. They love being miserable around here, completely miserable and sick and freezing cold and they only eat food with no flavor and no spices.

Okay... I guess I'm done ranting, sorry and Happy Holidays everyone! :D

(BTW, I like that "Pennsyltucky", LOL)

Maerj- I think you're right with the whole "love misery" bit about people here up North...plus, the whole point of Disney for me is to LEAVE this terrible cold and go somewhere warm! Who would come to a Disney park when it is covered in 10 feet of snow?

and I love the "Pennsyltucky" thing as well... :hammer:

Then again, I might end up at grad school in Florida... to escape all of the damn snow!

:) Glad you agree..it IS strange though, isn't it that it's true? Not for absolutely everyone, there are a few of us here who fight those things, but in general... Sheesh! :D Good luck on grad school!

My Disney Theme park proposal

I am currently in the middle of designing a propsal for a 6th Disney theme park on the WDWMagic Imagineer forum. Here is what I have so far:

THE MAGIC KINGDOM:

Main Street, USA:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30442

Adventureland:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31032

Fantasyland:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30624

Discoveryland This is basically Tomorrowland, with a dash of EPCOT and more staying power (remember the contant renovations, such as "New Tomorrowland", to keep Tomorrowland updated?) BTW, Discoveryland is the name for Tomorrowland at Disneyland Paris.:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30841

Frontierland and Critter Country:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31495

Mickey's Toontown:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30672

DISNEY STUDIOS:
This is my second theme park in the resort. I haven't designed it yet, but this will give you a good idea of what to expect on opening day:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31556

Here is my list of hotels for opening day:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31655

Here is a list of character meals:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31946

Last but certainly, not least here is my parade and entertainment schedule for the peak Summer and Holiday seasons:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31855

My proposed Disney theme park resort sits on 1200 acres of land (or 1.8 square miles); approximately 4 times the size of Disneyland's property, but an insect compared to WDW's massive 43 square miles of land! This was intentionally built on a smaller scale than WDW, since I designed it from the standpoint as if it were built somewhere in the U.S.

As for location, has anyone ever thought about Hawaii? It's one of the top tourist destinations in the U.S. (and the world, for that matter), and is quite isolated from the other parks (Disneyland is the closest park to Honolulu, with Tokyo Disneyland a close second)

BTW, Disney is seriously considering building a park in Shanghai; only 550 miles from the Hong Kong park currently under construction, roughly the exact same distance from Orlando to Wilmington, NC. If Disney could possibly build 2 parks that close to each other, who knows what they might do next! Stranger things have happened!!!!! :D

Oh and BTW, Happy Holidays! :xmas:

Build one down here!

HUGE market for themeparks here [we got 2 fairly good ones, one of which calls there guests "Guests" and staff "Cast" ]

But not another one in the U.S.!!! It will split the crowds even more!

Australia would probably be my first choice if my park was international. BTW, WeirdOne has designed a fantastic Australian park called the Down Under Resort on the Imagineer forum. His effort into this Disney theme park proposal is just STUNNING! Come visit the Imagineer forum if you want to see these and other park proposals like them! :)
