If I wait until 2017 to go back....

(assuming current spending habits) I'll have about $1300 in Disney Dollars from my Visa card to spend on the trip. I'll have a special needs 5 year old who might be able to tolerate a WDW trip at that age and a just turned 3 year old who will hopefully be the other little Mickey lover in my house (poor child isn't even born yet and I'm setting expectations).

How in the world can I get myself to wait that long?! Prior to children, we were yearly visitors and at the 11 month mark, I was starting to lose my marbles!

Can anyone sympathize here? Have you had to endure a long distance relationship with WDW via these forums and websites and youtube? Tell me about your coping mechanisms, or just cry with me if we're in the same boat.

I'm having a near panic attack just thinking about waiting that long! Logically, you have a good plan, and absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? The building anticipation will make that a great trip!

But, in the meantime, what about things like Disney on ice(I know it's nowhere near the same, but still..)?

I love doing Disney Saturday. Making Disney themed food like you'd find in the parks, watching my favorite Disney movies, watching youtube videos of my favorite rides and park walk throughs.

We almost planned a trip this last Christmas, which was a good thing we backed out, because on December 17th my DH had brain aneurysm surgery. He still is "not in the mood" yet to go this year, so our plans our for Christmas 2015. I'll have to cash out some Disney dollars before then, before the expire (have over $1600 right now) for a debit card and then head over to a Disney Store and buy Disney gift cards. I also have $900 in gift cards ($600 from my boss alone).:greedy: My goal is to have $3500 in total by next Christmas ... a free trip, as far as resort and tickets for my family of four. Probably the last trip with our DSs, as next year they'll be 25 and 20.

Nothing wrong with planning in advance! Actually, that is the BEST way to plan a Disney vacation!!! Kudos to you! It can be agonizing waiting (we are yearly visitors, and took a break 2007-2010) however, there is so much to keep us in a *Disney frame of mind* until our next arrival. WDWMAGIC, youtube, Disneyworld.Com, Disney movies, soundtracks, past pictures, kept the spirit alive! Look forward to 2017, (I even did a laundry money jar, what coins I found in the washer went into the jar! LOL) Peruse over menus, resorts, etc. Plan the PERFECT vacation! Hang in there, before you know it, you will hear "Welcome Home"!

You'll also be one of the first to experience Avatar Land!!

Agree with others that this is a great trip for planning ahead. You'll be able to map out exactly what you want to do with no pressure.

Reading trip reports also gets me through the times we are not on property - sometimes I get a bit jealous, but mostly I live vicariously through the poster. :)

why dont you visit other theme parks in the mean time, San Antonio seaworld, six flags, etc. discover new places. find the amazing where you dont think there is.. its also cheaper. then when you get to go back.. it only feels like the 7th time youve been there lol!.

Both parks in San Antonio are just great. And with the Riverwalk and the Alamo as well as the zoo San Antonio is a great city to visit.

The Steel Eel at Sea World San Antonio might be my overall favorite coaster anywhere.

aah! I think this is my favorite rollercoaster, can't beat those drops!
love San Antonio!

I love the triple humps as we call them on the Steel Eel. Up,down, up, down, up, down in about 30 seconds....bad for my tummy but so cool :)

And Fiesta Texas?

Oh man is that a great ride, much better than the one at Animal Kingdom but not 100% as good as the one at Universal IOA.
