Ideas for Star Wars shows on Disney+

Disney really need to be careful.

I loved TROS but with the exception of the announced TV series, they have got to move away from previous major characters. It holds them back too much.

They know this. They need to undo the damage done by the ST while keeping the positive aspects. I'm very optimistic the fan base has turned the tide and saved the franchise.

I'd like to see some backstories on Snoke, The Knights of Ren, possibly Phasma. Not necessarily their own shows per se. But worked into existing/future shows.

I think Snoke would be a viable candidate for Mando. This occurs just after RotJ and before TFA. Palpatine is dead (Yes, he's dead. No retcon from RoS). Mando could conceivably bring Snoke back. I think that would be great.

I’ve since lost interest. The characters are worthless now and now more than ever are revealed as the worthless mystery boxes that they were.

I want a show from the POV of R2-D2. All the beeps, whistles, and tweets translated. By the time The Force Awakens comes along he shuts down because he is old, tired, and sick of saving everyone. By the time the Last Jedi ends he has been doing his job for 65 years since his first appearance in the Phantom Menace. In his show he finds a way to go back in time before Poe Dameron and BB8 get the map piece, he then goes to find Luke on his own, tells him to suck it up and pull it together as the galaxy has gone to crap again while he is sitting and sulking.

actually a children’s show along the lines of shaun the sheep (no spoken voices only beeps and sound effects) with droids is a great idea. R2 is my favourite character in the movies so I’d love to see this 😃

Solo, in hindsight, would have been a good TV series. It could have been a Firefly type show with weekly heists and capers.

Solo didn't need to be a big budget spectacle with flying trains and trying to tie the character into the Rebellion prematurely.
It still would. Since there is zero chance they play out the set ups from Solo on the big screen. They should continue it as a limited series on D+. Solo was set up to have multiple movies. We never really got to see Han become the character we meet in ep4. He was still too optimistic and didn't really have that cynical look out for yourself only attitude. So there is still a lot of story to tell. The Hutt, Maul, Qira, Enfys nest...

I believe Disney plus is getting a Maul and Crimson Dawn show. https:///2019/12/rumored-darth-maul-show-backstory-tm1/

Some of my ideas:
  • A TCW-style animated show about the Adventures of the New Republic, starring Luke, Han, Leia, and either Ben or some alien Luke's apprentice (playing a role like Ahsoka). This should be the definitive explanation for what went down between 6 and 7, start out simple and kiddie but by the end go dark and watch Ben turn to the dark side.
  • A Star Trek-esque show starring Grand Admiral Thrawn, or alternatively a random New Republic Captain, exploring the Unknown Regions and encountering strange new worlds.
  • Band of Brothers style show starring one squad during The Clone Wars. Show the grittiness of war from a gritty live-action angle. Preferably make one season and stop.
  • Sitcom about a Stormtrooper Garrison, similar to Troops, and produced by Taika Waitti.
