Ideas for marriage proposal

Ok, heres my deal. My family...especially my mother and girlfriend (of 6 years) are absolutely obsessed with Disney. She, or they, would not have a wedding proposal any other place other than the magic kingdom. I was wondering if there were any creative ideas floating around, or personal experiences that had to do with this subject. I have got a few of my own but want to make sure I have covered all bases. I have some time to plan too, my family goes at least once a year and the next trip isnt coming up for a while. So if there are any ideas out ther or numbers to call and get things done can you plop them down on this thread. Really appreciated.

If she could choose one thing to do in disney and nothing else it would be to walk down main street to see the castle. Thanks for the links.

Obsessed with Disney, huh? Find out if her favorite Disney character is available to help you out. It would be cool getting ready for Wishes or something and out of nowhere, here comes Mickey, for example. Everyone sees him, wanting to get an autograph or picture with him, but he makes a beline right for you. Seems he's found this package with your name on it and hands it to you. The rest is up to you.

That's what I would do, at least.

Ok here it goes.....

My idea is to purpose at Cinderella's Castle at exactly 10pm while the first fired firework is in the sky. Then..... (of course I hope she says 'yes' or that would be a little too awkward!!!) I plan to have Mickey come out to present the ring on a red pillow.

Now.... lucky for you, you have the perfect girl picked out!!!!! As for me..... I have the perfect girl picked out, I am just waiting for her to finally take care of business and dump her idiot BF!!!!!! Anyway, I don't want to turn this into a Jerry Springer episode!!!1

Good Luck!!!! I wish you both the best of luck together!!!!!

I love the ideas. Keep them comin because i got time to plan. I think a mixture of satitx and buckeyes would be good as well. As anyone does i just want it to be special and unique

You can do it at the wishing well. Or when you first enter the park to have your pictures taken in front of the castle, you can propose to her there. Have it at her favorite restraunt. How about doing it in front of the castle during WISHES? Or how about her favorite ride?

I believe the wishing well is only at Disneyland. (I could be wrong though)

The ideas listed above are all probably the best ideas for proposals at the Magic Kingdom. As an addition to the above, after Mickey presents the ring (and she says "yes," of course) the Dapper Dans could appear and serenade the new couple with their favorite Disney song.

Of course, probably the most memorable (and outrageous) proposal would be at the top of Splash Mountain, surrounded by a boat full of family and friends. Now THAT'S a souvenir photo worth every penny!!

What about with the Fairy God Mother. She makes all wishes come true! The glass slipper and all would be wonderful! Aww I can't wait til my magical day comes true! :animwink:

I proposed during wishes at a quiet little spot to the right of the castle. It was the best moment of my life!!! Couldn't have found a more perfect moment to do it!

my avatar says it all ;)

OK. First of all do you have an idea what time of year it would be? The holiday season is always more magical.:) :xmas: I have been married for 15 years and always wanted to do this...

Contact WDW and tell them what you want to do and see if they can help you. Then... Stroll down Main Street hand in hand... As you approach the circle go see the "Partners" statue, make a small comment about being partners... Go over to the front of the castle in the little plaza area at street level where the band usually performs... (If you have WDW behind you the area should not be as crowded as it normally is)... Drop down on one knee, do your thing (pray she say's YES)... Then Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto appear (or your favorite characters), confetti is shot from the castle and the PA system comes alive with congratulations, some remarks to embarrass you and some appropriate music.

That’s my idea… Maybe for my one of my three daughters.

Good luck and best whishes, :sohappy:

I also plan on getting engaged in March when we are at WDW. I would like to get the CM's to help set something up. Are they normally willing to help? The only thing i am worried about is how am i going to get away from my girlfriend to be able to talk to a CM.

Time to start planning.

If she is close to her family, you may want to invite them down for a little vacation and help you surprise your GF. It would be cool for them to just show up wherever you are going to propose and have them included in the special occasion. The idea is a little "blue sky", but could make the occasion even more memorable.

Best Wishes for a long and happy life together.

You can always call them and let them know what you plan on doing. As far as I've heard, there have been plenty of time's CM's and characters helped out. Not only for popping the question, but for birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries as well. Give them a call. I'm sure they will have plenty of ideas if you don't. Good luck.
