Ideas for a Toy Story Land Expansion.

So, say you were planning a Toy Story Land expansion at Walt Disney World. What would you add? For instance, you could add elements from the other Toy Story Lands, like the RC Racers At DLP’s Toy Story Playland. You could also create your own elements from popular toys, such as, say, a simulator ride based off of Buzz Lightyear or something. Also, you can add multiple merchandise stores and restaurants, like Al’s Toy Barn, etc.

I may use this in my upcoming Disney Resort fake plan, depending on what you guys think!

Hey, welcome to the forums!

Are you looking for realistic ideas based on the current footprint of TSL at DHS, or things to incorporate with a cloning at your park?

Very true... however what would you do if they COULD expand, and had unlimited land?
While the land seems to have some vibrancy to it, especially at night - I would have liked to see some of these added kinetic elements seen in the original concept art.

For instance the old west town set at the entrance near the Woody statue, stuff like that to fill out the land a bit more.

I wish we could've seen a Toy Story land like this, even though I love the current way it looks. The extra Woody statue would have been great, and instead of Woody we could've seen other Toy Story characters at the entrance.

I don't know why they can't just follow the concept art. Budget? Land?

Okay, so because bluy sky Imagineering is awesome and allows for endless immaaaaaagination, here are some ideas for this hypothetical Toy Story Land expansion.

* Rename it to "Toy Story Playland" as I think it sounds more magical.

* Move the giant Woody to the other side of the path, and transform some of the behind-the-scenes area into an extra expansion.

* Al's Toy Barn appears as a gift shop, built within an Al's Toy Barn "play kit" box.

* Build an actual Pizza Planet restaurant across from the Alien Saucers, a large scale table service restaurant that actually resembles its film incarnation, complete with a full scale Pizza Planet delivery truck toy outside.

* The expansion would host the Woody's Roundup drag spinner (from Shanghai), based in a detailed wild west area. I also noticed Hamm is the only major character who doesn't seem to have much rep in the land, so I decided to add in "Dr. Porkchop's Ham-A-Thon", a small-scale minecart coaster set around rescuing the orphaned trolls from a variety of traps like the giant squeaky shark or "death by monkeys". This would be opposite Woody's Roundup and even run around said attraction.

* If there was room for further expansion, I would add in a new ride based around the Green Soldiers, and a proper Test-Track esque version of the RC Racer attraction.

Actually, a combination of both. I want to have ideas for an expanded version that could happen at DHS, and I would use them for a TSL at my park, based off the DHS Version.

Well there isn't a ton of room in DHS now based on how they laid this out, but there are some things I woukd have liked to have seen, though all wouldn't fit. As space said, the kinetics of the early concept art would be a good start.

- indoor spaces - I know it's not in keeping with andys backyard, but it's Florida
- play area ala HISTK that was taken out of DHS
- disney loves their dance parties (ugh), but this land seems like the ideal place for one, maybe with Mr. MIKE and/or Mr Spell as a backdrop character?
- how about an entirely indoor land (or mostly) like the mermaid one at TDS. Then you can control the environment though woukd have been tough with slinky

Interesting. If we're going Blue-Sky, but not toooo blue-sky then:
- A D-ticket Lincoln logs flume ride where many of your favorite Toy Story friends will make an appearence. From the Prospector's Mine to the Green Army Men getting ready for their mission. Don't miss Mrs. Potato Head's eye that the LGMs have taken! (Think of Dudley Do Right's moreso than Splash).
- An E-or-D-ticket Buzz Lightyear Ride where you enter the world of Star Command! (Buzz will be closed over in the MK to make way for a new ride).
- A Woody's Roundup C-ticket. Feeling hectic and trult like a classic dark ride, but don't light the dynomite in the mine!
- Have holiday versions of TSMM and major holiday decorations throughout the land for Easter, Halloween, and Christmas!
- A toybox ala Al's Toy Barn was such a good idea I wish they didn't cut it, so this is a definite add.
Could do other stuff, but for a 'filler land' it would have been very nice to have these things.

For a general Pixar Place land I would have loved to see a variation of Test Track’s slot-car themed to Toy Story & the Pizza Planet delivery trucks. I t would be hectic no doubt!
