I was over in the Imagineering forums and was reading many great ideas of how they would change, add or create new additions to the parks or just brand new parks in general. It got me thinking... what would be my picture perfect dining experience? What would they serve? I think a restaurant themed towards the Haunted Mansion would be awesome but maybe thats just me lol. I could see an addition being added to mansion that makes you feel like you are stepping into the 999 Haunts Kitchen. You never actually see a kitchen scene in the attraction and I think it would be a really cool concept. The waiters could wear similar costumes as the mansion cast members. I'd have to request that they serve some sort of ghostly grog beverage and maybe name their dishes towards some of the familiar faces in the mansion? (i.e. Madaam leota's macaroni and cheese ILMAO maybe give the patrons an option of adding different things to the dish). They could do homage to some of the names on the stones in the graveyard as well. (i.e. Uncle Freds, famous fried chicken)... i could go all day lol. o_O What would you like to see in a new Disney restaurant? Which park would you put it in?

I'd like a restaurant that is actually a slow moving ride that takes you through the park. Sort of like TTA style. The restaurant would be at the entrance of the park and you would order and get your first course served there. Once that's served your pod, capsule, car, whatever it is, starts moving through the park at a very slow pace. There would be different hubs or stations throughout the park where you would receive your next dish as well as be able to ask for anything extra.
Your pod would change scenery and music according to what land your going through (ala Animators Palette).
This would definitely be a two credit TS and would be an attraction within itself.
Of course there's a lot of things to think of when making this, but ideally it would be awesome if done right.

I've described, in previous threads, some I'd like to see --

1 - In MK, a Haunted Mansion restaurant, recreating in some wise the dining room inside the Mansion. Once an hour for a few minutes, the lights would dim and the happy haunts would appear and flit about the place (or, if the technology doesn't exist to do that, they would simply be seen flitting around outside the windows in a faux graveyard or conservatory).

2 - In HS, Chauman's Cantina from Star Wars, complete with the marks left on the wall when Han shot (first!) Greedo, and the cantina band. Blue (blueberry) milk and milkshakes will be house specialties. Alternatively, a buffet banquet in Jabba's palace with Sy Snootles and the band.

3 - In HS, a Roaring '20s Speakeasy restaurant, with a "secret" entrance and "password" to get in, and CMs circulating as flappers and dapper dandies.

4 - At Port Orleans French Quarter, which currently has no table service restaurant, Tiana's Palace, recreated from the film, with breakfast and lunch character meals w/ Tiana and Naveen, and more sedate (characterless) dinners with live music, serving REAL, SPICY Cajun food, not pizza and chicken nuggets. Tiana's pecan pralines would be served at dessert time, gratis. The accompanying counter service venue would be Mr. Ray's Cajun Crab Shack, with a dining area paneled with rustic clapboard, and twinkling lights in the style of little fireflies dangling overhead.

I love the Tiana idea! A delicious cajun place would be different and exciting.

TO Disney Shib - For your Haunted Mansion restaurant...How about some "Grim Grining Green Beans", or maybe "Ghost Host Grilled Salmon" , "Master Gracey's Meatloaf and Gravy", "Blood Red Velvet Cake", "Madame Leota's Lasagne", "Doom Buggy Apple dumplings", "Melanie Ravenwood Ravioli". yeah I know...Too much CAFFEINE today !!! (grin)
