Idea for DHS expansion

I have an idea for a new expansion at Hollywood Studios that I have never heard anyone mention. Santa Monica Pier, or “Sunset Pier.” This would go in the area that is currently the entrance and beside ToT, Fantasmic, and BatB. The new entrance would be configured somewhere in Echo Lake. Think of Pixar Pier in DCA, this would be a similar vibe. Ferris wheel, spinners, and a coaster. What I thought was interesting about Santa Monica, is that it is the official end of Route 66. There could be a Cars attraction where you race through Route 66 from California to Illinois (and back), and pass through Radiator Springs on the way. The main reason this land would be beneficial is that DHS needs a good water area, people-eater attractions, and ESPECIALLY rides with no height restriction like a Ferris wheel. This would also create a figure 8 shape to the map park and would balance out attractions better, instead of having a huge dead-end street. Thoughts?

Some of that's happening elsewhere so it'd be redundant. But I agree, DHS definitely needs a water area, a Pier or Wharf with boardwalk vibe with people eater attractions. A Ferris Wheel would also be a welcomed addition honestly. Tropey and cliché but iconic and classic all the same. Make it look like an unspooling film reel to tie it back to the Hollywoodland of yesteryear. The park also needs a classic bus bar style dark ride similar to the older Disneyland offerings. But before any of that, DHS desperately needs a water ride and flatrides (Ferris Wheel and then some)

A good discussion for the Imagineering Forum. https://forums.wdwmagic.com/forums/imagineer.15/

IF they would make it interesting enough to draw people there, I'd go along with this. The problem is making it unique and fun. The Boardwalk area outside of EP is boring with very little things to make it anything other than a quick stroll through if you aren't staying at any of the resorts there.
Cars is already slotted for MK so it won't be another Cars attraction. I'd like a ferris wheel.
Maybe add a couple of clubs like the old Pleasure Island days. City Walk at Uni seems to draw the crowds in so why not?

The only problem with a ferris wheel would be that loads on here would complain about either it being seen from other areas, or being able to see backstage areas from the wheel itself. It wouldn't bother me as you used to get that from the Skyway that Walt built in the MK along with from the Astro Orbiter there currently and also to some degree from Slinky.

Well, if a part of Pandora is being placed at DCA...You know why they have given up on what that park was about..So expect a park name change with DHS and also making DAK Disney's Adventure Kingdom instead.

Why does the theme have to be based on California?

Why can't something totally different that is well thought out be done instead. I really think something more than California could be done. Just my humble opinion.

Because the park is called Disney's Hollywood Studios and the theme of the park is that you're walking inside a romanticised Hollywood studio in California where the icon of the park is the Hollywood Tower Hotel down the street from a replica of the Chinese Theater which is located on Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood which is located in California? 🙈 I kid.

Regardless, I don't care for their idea, despite the fact I love California Adventure, enjoyed my day there more than Disneyland 🤷‍♂️

So why don't they make a Grand Entry of a movie and sets that would be a mind-blowing experience for all this e that enter the park. Never been done and would be a really great this for a Movie themed Park.

They trashed that concept when they trashed the GMR, Backlot tour, and anything else that could tie into the world of old time or present time Hollywood.
