I know exactly how you feel with the teeth pulling as I just had my wisdom teeth pulled 3 weeks ago today. I feel bad for you as I said I would never do that again(Only had the bottom ones Pulled)

I have no idea how you will/or at this point did make it through the day. There is no way I could have worked the day after or even 2 days after let alone 12 hours later. I was still bleeding 12 hours later. And I doubt that would be good for a daycare.

I feel really bad for you. Your boss is BAD in my opinion wow

I sincerely hope that the OP is hopped up on pain medication because seriously that was a hard post to read. Yikes...

I have a coworker whose husband has been put in similar situations. I recall their one and only trip to WDW, it was about 2 weeks out from trip time when they finally would give him the authorization for time off. He'd been begging for months :( They are awful if he's sick and injured- so he is pretty much expected to go in even if he's badly hurt or violently ill. I'm not saying I condone this, but he needs the paycheck.

While such threats are perfectly acceptable for said friend's hubby's company, it would be a serious HR violation if it ever happened in our office. Our company has sick leave without question. Not sure what your company's policies are, but threatening a person's vacay b/c of an illness issue is grounds at many firms for serious action since it could have legal ramifications if not quieted in house.

Here's hoping you get it all worked out and feel better soon!

I'm guessing this was a scheduled dental procedure but you waited till the immediate next day to call in sick; I'm with the boss on this one (though the Disney reference, unless a joke, was a little much). Sorry I can't back you up on this one.

its funny i have had this sched with him for 3 may be 4 weeks which is enough time to me we just had 2 people quit on wedn though!

yesterday i got 2 wisdom teeth pulled i was very sick all night and very sore the smorning i could barly stand up from the pain and the nausia. i call work i need today off ( i couldnt get off yest so i had them pulled at 7 pm last night) my boss said " if you wanna evr go to disney again i woujld suggest you get into work by 8 am " CLICK he hung up on me like who does that to some one> threatening over some thing they love so im leaving for work now 8 to 5 but i hope its an ez brezzy day bc i cant open my mouth or so alot of acitivity and im a teacher in a day care. Well TGIF i guess 28 days :)

I'd go in and then go to the office, and let the boss actually see what is going on. If that doesn't work, I'd tell him/her... fine, but don't expect crowd controll in my room today, unless you want to help. :fork:

Well, it sounds like you were threatened with being fired, which would result in no money to go to Disney. You're boss was attacking your weak spot, which is out of line. I have no idea what the personnel situation is at the day care center where you work, but I'm guessing that like so many places in this economy, there is just enough people on payroll to keep the place running and not one person more to deal with emergencies.

Hang in there the best you can. Hopefully you'll feel better by the end of weekend and ready to go back again on Monday.

That's horrible! I had my wisdom teeth pulled out and I didnt have much trouble, but I was still sore and was told to take it easy all week! But you seemed to have a bad time with it and he said that to you? Wow! I still wouldn't have gone and made the dental office call your boss and tell him to shut up and say you can't work lol.

I'd of told him a few days prior that you'd need to be off that day. I had all four of my wisdom teeth out at one time and I took off Friday and needed the weekend as well for feeling better.

Nice to hear you survived. Maybe you didn't really need the day off after all?

Dear Disneydreamer23, I sincerely hope you will be feeling much better very, very, soon. Yes, your boss is a jerk! However, I hope your normal letter writing is better than exhibited today. Possibly, the medication caused you to be somewhat mentally fuzzy or is this your text message spelling.

that would be the vikinin typing ha ha

The problem is you went to work. He should not talk to you that way(if he did say that).

I would have told him again... "I have the sick days and I am letting you know I will be using one today!" and then went "CLICK" on him/her.

However I do not think getting 2 wisdom teeth pulled was a last minute thing and you had no idea it was happening, right? Better planning would've avoided this whole mess.
