I have a new computer (as some of you saw in the other thread), and I installed i-Tunes before I transferred all of the files from my old computer.
So, when it asked during installation to search my computer and find all music, it really had no music to find.
Now I have transferred all of my media files to the new computer (using Windows Easy Transfer with a cable), and most of the files are in their normal places (within "My Music" "iTunes" folder). I-Tunes, however, did not recognize it at first; and I had to manually add them to the library (after which they played fine and were stored still in their normal place). But some are still not yet there (filed elsewhere, I guess). And my playlists were not picked up by i-Tunes.
So, I have two questions:
1. How can get i-Tunes to run that "search my computer for all music" feature again? I can't find it after setup.
2. Where are my playlists stored? (Not the songs, but the lists.) Is there a certain place to look, or am I out of luck and have to create them again.
And, by the way, I do NOT have an i-Pod. I use i-Tunes for the computer only, and I have a lot of music. I plan to buy one soon, but I do not have one as yet.
Thanks,
Paul
