I see the point here but question if it's really the best thing for what Disney should be doing. Maybe Radiator Springs Racers isn't the newest ride system out there, but when you ride it honestly feel like it's one of the best rides you've ever been on. Sure it's just the 20-year-old Test Track system repackaged, but it's a Cars-themed ride, would a KUKA arm really be better? Mission:Space was considered extremely innovative for it's time, but how many of us really prefer it over Horizons, a ride based on the 50-year-old Omnimover system?
A danger with innovative ride systems is that the development/tweaking of the ride system takes over a significant portion of the budget, and if they're not careful the vehicle becomes the show, instead of simply the conveyance through it. I love trying out a new ride system (Forbidden Journey's KUKA arm is amazing) but IMO a ride should be about the theming and total attraction experience first.
