I really hope touring plans is accurate

I really enjoy touring plans, and even though I've been many times I still subscribe. Just started planning our late August trip and the crowd calendar has us down for a couple of 3 days, a 2 day and even a 1!!! I really hope the Disney God's will smile down on us and this holds true. I can't even imagine what a 1 day on the crowd calendar is like.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Sometimes people have to look at Disney as a business,
I'm not disputing that, in fact Disney has increased the fees and made it more and more expensive to visit, even while raking in record profits. Curtailing the incentives just another step in their efforts to maximize the bottom line.

I think what @Sirwalterraleigh is saying is that Disney has curtailed this promotion more and more. 6 years ago, Disney offered the free meal incentive over a wider swath of time periods and the number of rooms eligable was much deeper.

Today, the time periods is much more restrictive and there's less rooms available to take advantage of the promotion. I don't think anyone will argue Disney uses this to try to entice people to come during "slow" periods, but since there are really no slow periods at disney, they don't have a need to offer the incentives as much as they used too.
They are going to use the promotion for the resorts room types that need it. If a specific resort/room type is prone to selling out, then it makes sense why it wouldn’t be on the list.

Sometimes people have to look at Disney as a business, no matter if they like it or not, one should be able to understand the reasoning for it.

I have always used Undercover Tourist and it's always pretty accurate, followed by KTP. When my groups post crowded photos and such, I always look them up along with Touring Plans and it seems like lately TP is pretty off, honestly. But they're all predictions and if you plan accordingly, you're going to still have a good time. I plan around crowd calendars and it's never worse than I expect but I have also been enough to know what to expect. As others have stated, Disney is pretty much always busy lol.

I went the very last week of August last year and crowds were not too bad really. Very manageable and not horrible. I only waited longer than 25 min for a couple of attractions the entire trip. Just utilize rope drop and late nights and FP+ and EMHs every day and you should be good! Big storms also help scare away the crowds too.

Here's the predicted Crowd levels for last year and what ended up being for Aug 26-Sep 1. I know when I first booked my trip it was almost all 1-4s. But about 30-45 days before, they all went up for the most part. I booked my trip for this upcoming Sep about 7 months ago and have already seen the crowd level predictions on TP go up. I am sure there will be some 2-4s for a lot of days. But expect a few days to also be in the 4-6 range probably.

I wonder if the disconnect is between "crowd" levels and wait times. for example when I was there a few weeks, the wait time for pandora lands were out of control. that of course is because it's new but overall I did not find the park crowded at all. very easily walkable without bottle necks and other wait times under an hour. I think folks see 2 hour wait for pandora and automatically think "very crowded".

I do recognize the days of walking through an empty magic Kingdom are long gone, and definitely don't expect that.

Makes so much sense!!

4s and 5s won't be bad. I think ill make my fps for the afternoon or evening and do rope drop. This way we'll get to ride the headliners twice.

Outstanding gameplan, that's pretty much what I did and it worked like a charm! 4s and 5s are definitely not bad at all and totally manageable for sure! My longest waits of the entire trip were for Soarin' one morning (30 minutes without a FP+) and the Haunted Mansion my very last day with no FP+ (was 40 minutes on Labor Day Sunday around 1pm). I got on everything else in 25 min or less the entire trip, usually 15 min was the norm. Even got to go enjoy FoP twice and never waited more than 10 min thanks to FP+ and EMH rope drop.

I'll take crowd levels of 2-5 any day of the week over 7-10s lol
