The Vets is across the street from COSI. At COSI they are building an undergroung parking garage currently.

Even the roads had construction. I felt like there was cranes everywhere. Lol

Oh man, that's awesome! I know progress is a LOT slower than they projected. Back when they first asked us to contribute oral histories and service artifacts they told is it would open in December of last year. We're going on a hard hat tour next week though and I'm really excited about that!!

When does it open?

Neat! It looks like most of the main structure is complete. I can't tell if the roof is complete or not because they may be leaving that part open since it's a swirl/oval design. I think it took longer than planned to build because they had to rebuild the retaining wall when they tore the old one down.

The roof is the parade field. It will have an observation deck, grass, seating/standing room, and a stage. The idea is that a parade can March up the spiral pathway on the outside of the building and everyone can gather on the parade field for a speech or celebration

@21stamps it's been nonstop construction here. They added a median with trees on the road in front of COSI, which is complete now. FYI my husband works at OSU, although he's a Michigan State grad so that's where his heart lies.
I'm a UM grad but my heart has always been with OSU football. I love my Canes, but if it came down to a championship, I'd go for OSU.

Wow! This sounds so neat!!

@DisneyBound2017 Do you happen to have a sister in the area with blonde hair that sells Scentsy (or used to at least)? You look so much like someone I know.

I should have taken a picture of the Vets when I was at work. I'll take one next week when I go back to work if I remember.

Good call on scaling back dining reservations. We kept them to a minimum when our kids were younger. It gave us so much more flexibilty. Now that they are older and enjoy trying new foods and restaurants we schedule more. We found that taking an afternoon swim and nap break was essential for our kiddos (and us)! I think your daughter will love CRT. Super jealous that you will be at Disney for Christmas. Looking forward to following along.

I plan on doing a mother/daughter trip with her when she's six or seven if she's still into Disney, so I thought we could do more character meals then. We went to a street party a couple weeks ago and she was HYSTERICAL when we saw a dalmatian mascot guy from the fire department so something tells me she might not be ready to dinner with the mouse

We definitely plan on being back at the resort at naptime. I wore her in carriers when she was little and we just got our first stroller a couple weeks ago after she turned two. So there's no way I'm counting on her to know how to nap in a stroller, lol!!

Our first trip our daughter was 4. Two months before our trip we went to Chuck E. Cheese for a birthday party. As soon as Chuck E. Cheese came out to visit the kids she ran to my side and said, "I am scared from Chuck E. Cheese!" (One of my favorite childhood quotes from her!:inlove:) I knew then that I'd made the right decision in not scheduling a ton of character meals. She was a bit shy with the face characters, but overall it was fine and we were able to get some sweet photos. I love that your daughter wants to hug Elsa on Christmas!! I really want to do a Christmas time Disney trip.
Your itinerary looks great. I think you've got a great balance of activity and rest.

Dec 25: rope drop Fantasyland, late breakfast at BoG, leave the park by 11:30ish or whenever it gets so crowded we can't think.

Your plans sound great AND realistic - you're going to have a great trip! Just wanted to point out in case you weren't sure that even though BOG is counter-service at breakfast, it still requires a reservation!
