I Need Snow In February!

In Orlando... On the 23rd... Preferably at MK, but I can change my plans if need be. And I probably will if I can manage to find this...

I know there was some Frozen attraction that had machine snow (Epcot?), and they made it snow for the Christmas parades in MK.

This is for something bound to be quite special. Any suggestions?

Doesn't DHS have snow? Oaken's something or other?
YES! Oaken's Wandering Trading Post... Or something like that. Does it still exist, and is it believable?
I'll be in Florida in February to get away from the snow, so feel free to help yourself to any you may find in my driveway in RI then.
Me too. But it's a proposal and she's expecting snow. Not a necessity, but it would be fun.

Yes Oakens trading post is still at DHS. And it is the most believable snow on property. You actually get to play in it for a specified amount of time. My wife and daughter did try and build a snowman with it. There is also a photo opportunity there where the superimpose Anna and Elsa on your picture if that interests you for posterities sake.

About as believable as a middle school play production could make it. Its a big room with a curtain and some lights that create a snow effect. I could be wrong, but I dont recall actual snow falling. There was a pit with frozen ice in it that kids were playing in. We wandered in and left after about 1 minute. Perhaps try contacting Disney and see what they could do to help. I proposed in WDW and the concierges at our resort REALLY REALLY made a HUGE difference in making it go off without a hitch. They were great. Best of luck and CONGRATS!!!!!!

My only restriction is $$$. The trip alone is almost a budget breaker, and there's not much extra to use. I might be able to come up with a little extra, but I'm sure they're all about making that sale. That's about the only reason I haven't called them yet.

If your username is your real name and you have a photo as your avatar, your girlfriend may figure out the surprise before you're ready!! I'd suggest changing the name and photo just in case - and best of luck with your proposal!! :)

How about just proposing at Blizzard Beach?
We hate water parks. :( But a dang good idea though!

I thought about that earlier, I think she's catching on to something Disney. I don't think she'd really look, but you never know.

What exactly did you have in mind for a proposal and why does there need to be snow?

As it stands, there will probably only be two things that feature 'snow' when you are down here in February. There's the Frozen sing-along at DHS that uses the soap-sud-snow for the finale. The other is the Trading Post, also at DHS, where there is a snow pit that guests can play in for an allotted amount of time.

My suggestion is to do your research on both, google photos of the Wandering Oaken's snow play area, and watch a video of the show's ending to see if either would be conducive to the timing needed for the proposal.

You could always contact a local ice company and see what they could do.

Snow in Orlando? Not going to happen since Jim Varney is no longer with us to share his Christmas Magic.

EDIT --- The exterior of Vern's house was also on Residential Street before LMA took over.

And I think...not sure but I THINK the interior shots were filmed on one the DHS soundstages.

I've changed proposal plans 3 or 4 times at this point, but the snow idea came up today at lunch.

Original plan (and still standing unless I can do something with the snow idea) is at MK the day we get there, Snow White's wishing well, cheesy lines from me, etc. etc., and I've got ADR's for Cali Grill that night.

Snow because she loves all things winter and Christmas, and thanks to some bugs in her ear, she thinks i'm waiting for it to snow here to propose. (That was my initial plan before I booked the WDW trip.)

I've seen the video of the Snowground at the Trading Post, about to look up the sing-along.

The majority of the Film was done on Disney Property you can see the original brown Directional signs to the parks in a few shots at the beginning of the film
