I need Intel lol - I braved splash mountain now DD wants more

When I was younger I had no fear lol now I am a mom and a nurse and I think my heart nearly stopped on the Splash Mountain ride lol, it was fun but terrifying- my daughter and I recently moved to Orlando and for her 8th birthday I got her and I annual passes to Disney, so we are trying to go at least twice a month to get my money's worth lol

We have done the Barnstormer and Splash Mountain so far and I survived both

How scary is Everest and the other big rides? Fast is cool, drops are a bit scary but I can survive.... Lol is there a list somewhere that ranks them in order of scary? Lol thanks so much, I don't want to let her down but I also don't want to get up there and pass out or something lol maybe I can befriend someone in line to ride with her

When it opens back up take her on Big Thunder Mountain. It's just enough of fun and thrilling. I'm not big on flume rides kind of gal so SM is not my piece of pie. As for EE, it's ok, there are some big climbs and it does go backwards down through the dark of the mountain for a spell so be ready for that.

Thrill rides at WDW aren't like thrill rides at a Six Flags or Hershey Park or Kings Dominion, etc. In the real world, WDW rides are well-themed baby rollercoasters for the most part.

Seven Dwarfs isn't too scary and it's quick. I second, Big Thunder Mountain, it's mostly just rough and curvy, and long. Try Test Track too, it's just fast.

Expedition Everest, to me at least, isn't too scary. However, it does go backwards at one point.

Take it from me...I do NOT ride anything with huge drops or that goes fast. As a disclaimer...I rode Everest and Rock N Rollercoaster once to entertain my wife and both were way too intense for me. Everest wasn't too bad, but the backwards part was quite intense. RNRC was just too crazy for me in general.

For the record...I have never ridden Tower of Terror. I won't do Splash Mountain because of the huge drop.

You can wait in line with your daughter and then take the "chicken exit" which is something I've done. Your daughter would ride alone, but at least you could wait in line with her all the way up until she gets on the ride and then you wait for her at the exit.

I used to be afraid of everything. Now I ride most everything there. Start slow and build, personally I hate the big drop of Splash more than anything else in the parks. I would go next to 7 Dwarves, agree Big Thunder once open again. After those Test Track. Space Mountain is not bad but the complete dark gives you no idea where you are going and may be too intense for that reason. Have fund and take your time building on each coaster to see what you like.

Scary is really relative when it comes to thrill rides. Some people get done in by speed, others by drops, and still others don't like G forces getting them. Big Thunder is probably the tamest of the bigger coasters. No real huge drops or speed, you will get tossed around a bit from a bunch of short quick changes in direction. Space Mountain would be a step up, drops and speed are a bit bigger, and from the darkness it definitely seems faster. RnRC and Everest are a toss up. RnRC does have inversions, but I feel that Everest pulls more Gs in that backwards turn. ToT is totally different since it really is just the drop, and the suspense while you wait for it.

It all depends what scares you. Here's one person's unscientific list made up on the spot:

• If fast is cool and drops are OK, that should mean Big Thunder, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Test Track are fine.
• If spinning is also OK, Primeval Whirl will be fine
• If you can handle fast in the dark, Space Mountain should be fine.
• If you can handle fast and backwards with a bit of darkness, Everest should be fine.
• If you can handle fast and upside-down in the dark, Rock n Roller Coaster should be fine.

Tower of Terror is another league. Very fast drop, and somewhat unpredictable drop sequence. But for a very short time.

Harder to figure rides that some people are scared of include:

• Soarin -- although I don't get one. The motion is gentle and the visuals are great. Just go on it.
• Star Tours -- This is a fairly standard motion simulator with 3-D projections. It's bumpy, but that's about all. You can handle it.
• Dinosaur -- Bumpy, and fast in parts, but really not a big deal. As long as you can handle a few startling dinos, you should be fine here.
• Mission Space -- Orange is not for the weak of stomach. Green is not intense at all, though.

To put it in perspective, my 6 year old son, and my 76 year old mom ride all of them, except mom can't handle Mission Space Orange any more.
