Is this a Disney cruise??? On any cruise you're pretty much okay to do whatever you want in ports. You just have to understand the timing of what you plan because if you tour on your own you absolutely must get yourself back to the ship before the all-aboard time. If you get held up and run late the ship WILL sail without you. Then its your problem getting to the next port to rejoin the ship. Research is key and attention to detail is paramount. Make sure you know the ship's time vs. the port's time. Stay on ship time! Touring outside the ship's excursions can be done although I don't know a thing about the ports you mentioned specifically. Google is your friend! Study study!

I just read in the news here that two European cruise lines (Aida and MSC) have suspended all their visits to Egypt until the end of the year and are replacing Egypt with Isreal.

I was about to say… I am like, “I don’t think Disney does that… nor do I think they will do it.” They day they have a ship not based in Florida maybe that will happen. LOL I do like that cruise, research is the best, order books, etc… also like there stay out of Egypt I am sure most cruises won’t even visit for your safety.

I was very surprised yesterday to hear a Disney rep (not a park Cast Member) say that Adventures By Disney has put Egypt back on the schedule for 2014 and 2015.
