:) Hey you have future trips to look forward to! I may not go there until I get a job out on my own. My sister is going to College so we have a tighter financial cramp. However, since Disney is a second home to us, I think we can sneak another trip there. Ah, but the anticipation is the BEST PART! Plus the cruises are amazing just as magical and special as WDW! You get amazing waiters to keep, visit new places, and still be with your cherished Disney! :D

Sorry you got sick last time! :( No fun.

Missing F&W for a cruise when it's cold:confused:. You must really love that man!:p My DH wants to cancel our Christmas time trip in Dec to "do something other than Disney". I see his point, but he's wrong:D.

No kidding! :p He's from Alaska, so a cruise when it's hot is out of the question! We're trying to do a lot of "other than Disney" things this year since he told me he's burnt out. We have a trip planned to Durham, NC (only about an hour away) to see Beauty and the Beast on "Broadway" and spend the weekend in Raleigh. I tried to get him to go with me to NYC to see The Glass Menagerie (and my favorite actor) on the REAL Broadway, but he just can't be convinced to spend close to 1k on a weekend trip. One reason we have to wait so long until our next WDW trip is because I'm doing a summer abroad in Ireland (oh, it'll be horrible! ;)), so summer 2014 is out. I'm hoping he'll get his "other than Disney" trips out of his system and be ready to head back! I'm pretty sure he's already missing it though. The trip in Dec 2014 is supposed to be a mother/daughter affair but he's already said he's going too if he's not working! ;)

Oh no! Could you take a day and drive over to WDW? I don't think I could be that close and NOT go! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is really amazing, though I'm sure it's much more amazing if you don't get motion sickness... I can't wait to go once they open 2.0!
That is exactly what I've been telling my wife all along. I've never been to Orlando without going to WDW. It's going to kill me seeing all the DME busses rolling around. But this year we had some scheduling conflicts and could only squeeze in vacation for six days, which is another reason Universal worked for us. Six days is too short for us to work in any Disney time since we've already added I-Fly Orlando and Aquatica to our schedule.
Yes, I am going to Universal, and it's taken me some time to get over my guilt. But I will keep my promise to my boys, we will go to Uni this year and have a great time. The only place my kids have ever gone on vacation is WDW. So I'm expecting that they'll be experiencing some shock and awe about a non-Disney vacation. It will be interesting to see how they will handle not being within the "Disney Bubble". But 2014, We Will Return!!!

Cool! You can hop over to Paris for a quick Disney fix at DLP!

Come on, you've just got to see it once in your life! Just go alone, or with some friends you meet / make. Or maybe you can use 'Paris' to lure hubby into a combined city/theme park trip.

Me, I'll be doing DLP for one day this weekend (yay!), just to get a quick shot in the arm to sustain me until my next WDW trip.

Have fun this weekend!!! :D

Just this morning, I was thinking I should take that Disney cruise I've thinking about for so long...so I think you should focus on planning THAT! I'd love to follow your planning and then hear how it went. I could benefit from your tips on what you did right and what you'd do differently, etc.

I agree! I've been waiting on the 2013 DCL Passporter. I had it preordered, but the ship date has switched from May to June to July! I went ahead and cancelled it. I'll just go buy it when it comes out. :(

I studied abroad in Wales and we took the ferry over to Ireland and traveled around. You are going to love it. Some of the most breathtaking views I have seen was staying in a little town called Sneem surrounded by green mountains and lakes. Dublin is fun. The area around Trinity is good mix of students and tourists. And yes the Guinness tastes better there.

Oooh, I just had the swellest of Disney days!

I must admit to mixed feelings about DLP. Basically, it isn't WDW, so where DLP is better I am green with envy, and where it is worse I despise it. But this time I got over all that and had good fun!

Hi, all! I haven't been here in a while. I've actually been avoiding all of you like the plague! You see, I was supposed to be visiting the World in October, but my husband convinced me to cancel in favor of a Disney Cruise in January. I did, but now I don't see myself being able to go again until next November! I did go in April, but it doesn't even feel like I was there because I was sick and laid up in the hotel room the entire time. I miss it so much! Honestly, Disney World is my happy place. :) Obviously no one here can do anything, I just wanted to vent a little.

I feel your pain! I've been MIA around here for most of the year, too. My husband actually surprised me with a long weekend trip to WDW at the end of November, and 2 weeks beforehand, I surprised HIM...with the news that we are having a baby!!! We were in the process of adopting at the time, so it was quite the surprise! :D That trip was amazing, and we had planned to go in April during my 7-year old's spring break, but we decided to cancel that trip. I stopped dropping by here because I didn't know if we'd be able to do another trip before next summer, and I was trying not to obsess. Fast forward to now - I'm 2 1/2 weeks away from having a baby boy, and I'm fully back in Disney mode. We have scheduled a trip at the end of October, and we'll be bringing along TWO Disney newbies - the baby and my mom!

We have a trip planned to Durham, NC (only about an hour away) to see Beauty and the Beast on "Broadway" and spend the weekend in Raleigh.

I have tickets to take my son to this show! If we happen to be there on the same night, we should meet up in the lobby for a cupcake. :)

I'm glad you're back!! Enjoy planning your cruise - they look amazing! A cruise is definitely on my Disney Bucket List.

1 year and 4 months since my last trip to The World. Just over 5 months and I finally get back! I feel your pain. Thankfully I have the awesome WDWMagic site to help me with my WDW withdrawals. :)

Right there with ya, OP. I went as a kid a handful of times and then sat out until I took my wife and her parents there in 2001 (but only to MK and Epcot). We didn't go again until 2012 with what are now 9 and 7 year olds. To see their faces driving into the park, seeing the rides/characters, etc. makes it totally worth the several thousand dollars and I'll never not stay at a DW resort for the convenience factor alone. We just went in Oct. '12 and were planning the next trip within hours of leaving the grounds. Unfortunately we have to sit out 2013. Since all of our vacations are paid in cash we need the time to save up a little and this next trip is with both sets of g-parents and my mother-in-law is already out of vacation time in 2013. But I know your feeling exactly. Our trip in late Nov. '14 seems like it's eons away.

That sounds awesome! :D I'm glad you were able to take your family! Paying cash is our problem too. :( We don't charge vacations, so sometimes it takes awhile in between.
