Hi, all! I haven't been here in a while. I've actually been avoiding all of you like the plague! You see, I was supposed to be visiting the World in October, but my husband convinced me to cancel in favor of a Disney Cruise in January. I did, but now I don't see myself being able to go again until next November! I did go in April, but it doesn't even feel like I was there because I was sick and laid up in the hotel room the entire time. I miss it so much! Honestly, Disney World is my happy place. :) Obviously no one here can do anything, I just wanted to vent a little.

Your next trip will come eventually, waiting is part of what makes them so fun. It builds excitement, and then you're even happier to be there.

Plus, you have a cruise to look forward to! It's not the parks, but it'll still be fun!

Girl, you need to start looking forward to that cruise! We normally have a year between trips so I'm used to the long-haul anticipation. I tend to rely on these boards, Youtube, park music and good old fashioned planning to get me by. It really helps to know when your next trip is and have it booked so maybe you need to get a date and start a little pre-planning. And remember, you have a wonderful cruise on the horizon! ;)

Well, better to have a cruise as opposed to going nowhere at all or somewhere you really don't want to visit. It's definitely not the same experience but I mean, cancelling a WDW trip is not the end of the world or anything like that. As tough as it is to wait, good things come to those who wait is what I say.

Us too, but it looks like it's gonna be DL for us. We need a break from WDW sadly.:( Welove WDW, it's just we aren't able to go at any other time other than the busiest times of the year.:(

Just a head's up if you are considering DL because WDW is too crowded...if you visit DL during school vacation time, it will be worse than WDW because DL is a MUCH smaller park...the queue lines are short and walkways are narrow, leading to wall-to-wall people. DCA is better, but I still wouldn't want to be there during the summer.

We were just there the beginning of March and the crowd level was very tolerable.

The summer isn't bad for the DLR. It's November and December that's bad, especially December.

@vitani88 The wife and I just did a DC back in February. Outside of our honeymoon in Paris, that has been our best vacation ever. We rebooked while on the cruise for next June. We had so much fun that we moved that trip up to this year. That was my first cruise and we had a total blast. I think it is a great break from the parks to be quite honest. It will also make you appreciate the parks more on your next trip. Enjoy the cruise!!

Oh am I with you on this one, but at least you within the Disney Bubble. We have made 8 trips to WDW in the past six years, yes, Disney is our happy place as well. This year, I'm bound to keeping a promise and going to Universal for the first time to experience Harry Potter. I promised my three sons that as soon as our youngest was tall enough, we'd do Universal.
Well this is the year, he's over 48 inches, and its so depressing! Don't get me wrong, I am excited about going to Uni, but it's not Disney.
I told my wife that as soon as we get back from this next trip, I will immediately book POR for fall 2014.

Hurrah, you're back!

Though sadly for you, back here, instead of back in EPCOT, where you belong by birthright and by the laws of a just universe.
After all these years - I first visited as a kid back in 1979 - I still cry like a baby when I leave and miss WDW terribly until I can return. It's an infection, a lifelong infatuation and obsession. If you got it, then there's nothing you can do about it!

Oh no! Could you take a day and drive over to WDW? I don't think I could be that close and NOT go! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is really amazing, though I'm sure it's much more amazing if you don't get motion sickness... I can't wait to go once they open 2.0!

Amen.

I am dying to go back. Every day I think about how I can sneak back down for a trip! The good news is my husband has finally come to the conclusion that we should move to Florida when I finish school (in 2 years) and I didn't even mention it!

OP, I so feel your pain! We were due to arrive at WDW in less than 90 days. However, we are going to be moving during the time that we were supposed to be at WDW. Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to the move. We are leaving NY and moving to Augusta Ga. So in the long run we will be so much closer to WDW. But with the "logistics" of a large move, getting the new house ready, selling the old house here in western NY (anybody out there in search of a new home in western NY???) and then the actual move -- whewwwww! We discussed the matter a great deal on the drive to Augusta last week and, of course, the responsible adults in us won out. But the disappointment of calling WDW and cancelling the trip on this past Monday (our 90 day mark) was quite great. It was to be our delayed 25th anniversary trip. So it will be delayed longer. Hey, maybe we'll go in January for our 26th anniversary. We shall see. I still kind of feel like crying (that's the bratty inner child) ;)
