Like a whole lot of other people, missing Disney is a big part of why I come here! (Plus, my co-workers are getting tired of hearing me talk about it all the time...I think they're considering throwing a net over me some day soon! )

AND...garyhoov is exactly right, looking through the guidebooks is amusing and interesting, too.

This might seem sort of boring, but I like looking through Birnbaum's and Fodor's travel guides. The 2003 ones are out now!

My Birnbaum guide (or Birnie, as I call him :D ) comes to work with me sometimes when I'm particularly homesick for the World. I need to get the new 2003 Birnie, but it seems almost like I'd be cheating on my heavily-loved & -worn 2001 guide. I bought the one for Kids and the one for adults without kids (which I lovingly refer to as Birnie Jr. and Birnie Sr. :animwink: ) but they don't compare to the main guide with all the photos of "home" that I can open to anytime.

I went for the first time in June 1999. When my family went back in December 2000, we got annual passes and made a total of 7 trips on them! We decided to wait a year to get more passes and it's been terrible....I got accustomed to a trip every couple of months (even though it's an 11 hour drive) and several times this year I didn't think I'd make it through. But here we are....about to make a Halloween trip and a Christmas trip, and who knows how much next year! :sohappy: But it's been a tough time getting to it....

My wife and I are celebrating our 19th anniversary today, and we are planning to go back to WDW next year for our 20th. That will be the first time we go without our kids. We are planning to stay for 3 or 4 nights at the All Star Movies. We typically save for 2 - 3 years to take a trip, and I go nuts waiting!:hammer: The first time we took our kids was in 1994, and we literaly rolled pennies to save enough money.

It's a nightmare trying to get copies of birnbaum over here.

The disney stores have stopped selling them, and It took until about June 2002 for the 2002 copy to get to me from Amazon!

My kids give me the new Birnbaums as a Christmas gift every year(I still peak at it at the book store).
Unfortunatley we live in Maine, so it's not that easy for us to make a trip.

do you have any other bookstores near you? most major bookstores (in America...not sure exactly where you live) such as Books-a-Million and Barnes and Noble carry them.
