Pre-Trip I May Have Done a Thing...

I know, I know, that's the busiest time of year to go, but hear me out! Christmas sucks for us right about now! And we decided that instead of staying home and wallowing in our sorrow, we would go somewhere and try to keep ourselves busy. Christmas 2022 obviously sucked, but we were so numb at that point that it's all a blur. Then 2023 was horrific and felt like the first Christmas without Lily. Needless to say, I didn't feel like decorating nor celebrating, so we didn't do a whole lot that year. Last year, I still couldn't bring myself to decorate, but we tried to attend a few celebrations and ease back into things. My anniversary trip with Brian last year helped get me closer to remembering that I used to love Christmas and all the decorations, but I'm still not sure I would be able to decorate the house this year either, so now I won't have to worry about it too much! The boys don't necessarily want to go anywhere, but they grudgingly agreed to go with us when I promised we would make it as laid back and stress free as possible, which I know means we will miss seeing and doing a lot of things! As you can surmise from my picture, we are staying at Caribbean Beach again. I booked two (hopefully connecting) standard view 5th sleeper rooms. I am going to request to be in Trinidad again this year.

PSA: If you are a Sam's Club member, you can purchase $200 e-gift cards for $180. There is a max of 4, but I saved $80!! Sale goes through the 9th.

And Owen FINALLY got his driver's license today!!! We were not pushing him because we understand why he was reluctant after Lily's accident, but our lives are going to be sooooo much easier now!

Harry had a hard time deciding exactly where he wanted to be!

I got my new 4 ft tree out today to be sure the lights work and to decide what size bag to get to transport it. I was definitely reminded why I'm not trying to put a big tree up at home this year!

I did not floof it like I will once it's really set up, but not too bad for a $30 tree! And there are 9 different settings for the lights!

Surprisingly enough, Cruella wasn't very curious about the tree. I'm sure, given enough time, she would join in, but she just walked away after a single no!

But I can't include pictures of only one cat, so here she is warming up my new PJ bottoms for me!

Gaah, these dang popcorn buckets!! They have this gingerbread house one again this year (or at least very similar to the one last year that WDW had available at MVMCP until the day after we left and was then available to everyone!)...but only at Disneyland.

The truck one is also available to everyone at Disneyland. Guess I'm just meant to save my money!

My husband really wants the truck one but since we aren't going to either park for the holiday this year its not going to happen. He looked on Ebay but the cheapest he saw was one for $79 and that isn't going to happen either. Why do they have to make these buckets so cute!

Yep, I already checked Ebay too and refuse to pay that! If they still have the trucks when we are there after the parties end, I can definitely pick up an extra one for him, but I'm not counting on any being left after the parties.

If you see one that would be great but we/he can live without it too. It does kind of stink though that they are sold only at parties in WDW and to everyone in Disneyland. But I guess it makes the parties "special" at WDW.

I'm so glad you started your Pre-TR and love all your plans so far! Congratulations to Owen on passing his driver's test! My husband also has a difficult time giving up control behind the wheel during long trips. We've done the trip from NJ to WDW twice and stopped in Lumberton, NC for the night. The next day he'd give up the wheel for me to drive a couple of hours on 95 South through NC and SC since that stretch is relatively easy. I love that you are dining at LTT for Christmas and plan on getting a photo in front of each park's Christmas tree! Your 4-foot tree is adorable and the perfect size to put up in your hotel room! That Mickey/red truck popcorn bucket is adorable, so I hope you're able to find one the day at some point during your trip! 🥰

Thanks for following along! I'm actually excited about decorating our rooms and may have gone a little overboard, but I do love the tree! I may have to insist that I drive through Atlanta because that part always stresses Brian out! Otherwise, I just let him do his thing and listen to him complain after we arrive! I really want to find that popcorn bucket, but I'm not counting on it.

Sounds like Brian and Joe should go on a road trip, and you and I should go on a road trip!
