I Love Being A Local!

So I went to the MK to meet a friend for his birthday last week. Unfortunately, he left by the time I got there. Since I was there I decided to go ahead and ride some rides!

I got there at 11:30, so there was already a line at Space Mountain. I decided to fast pass it, but as I went to get it, this guy just handed me a fast pass he wasn't going to use, and was good for 11:30-12:30. Nice!

A few more highlights:

There was virtually no wait for Pirates, but since everyone was using the line on the left, I went right. I got an entire boat to myself, which was really cool. This kid in the boat in front of me kept looking back at me. When I got off his dad asked how I got a boat to myself, and told me he told his kid it was a ghost boat, lol. Also, the whole first seen with the drowning guy in the well wasn't working, just the sounds, which was a little erie.

I got an older captain on Jungle Cruise, and he did very little of the prepared script, which was cool. He also had to adlib for a while at the end because they were unloading a handicapped boat ahead of us.

I noticed a few things I hadn't seen before in Small World. I don't know if they were recently added or if I just missed them, but I love it when I see new things. They did such a good job on that rehab.

The only bad karma for the day came in Thunder Mountain. The wait was supposed to be 40 minutes, but it ended up being about 20, the line moved really quickly....

Until we got to the ramp to go down to the trains. A really upset CM was getting yelled at by this British guy. Evidently his kid cut his elbow on something, and he was really letting this poor girl have it because she didn't have any band-aids. So she stopped the line and called a manager and it was this whole giant production to make this guy happy.

Yesterday, I went to Epcot with MKT and his friend, and had a blast. It's so cool just to go to Disney on a whim, lol.

I got my first character pic since I was about five. We were coming out of Mission:Space when Space Mickey and Space Goofy appeared before us in the hallway. We just followed them outside and got out pics taken with them. Then MKT got a really cool pic of them plastered up against the wall, lol.

When we were on Maelstrom, the ride stopped and the work lights came on. I didn't realize the boats could be stopped like that, lol. Freaked the whole boat out a little bit. Everytime MKT tried to take a pic, the work lights went off. When he put the camera down, they came back on. When the ride started up again, the whole boat tipped up before it started moving.

We stayed for Illuminations, which is the second time I've seen it. I had a much better view of the globe this time, but I still think that globe drags down the whole show, especially considering how good the fireworks are.

Then we went to PI! I love being local!!! :D

This made me laugh when I read it, just because I could see the CM's operating the ride going "Wait wait he's lifting the camera up again turn the lights off!" and when Rob would put the camera back down "Okay, it's safe, turn the lights back on" lol

So true. That "boring" part in Illuminations is far too long. My sister and I always talk then or walk around. Ugh, and waiting through that part on New Years Eve is annoying. We all look at eachother and laugh.

Happy birthday, too.

Glad the trip wasfun.
