I thought some folks might like to see that Celebrity is eliminating the "single supplement" for more than 275 itineraries in Europe, Caribbean, and Alaska through the early part of next year.

That is awesome news. Now my dad may be able to cross Alaska off his bucket list without the risk of me jumping overboard. We can get him his own cabin.

He‘s 90 and in great health, and we just came back from a trip to Ireland (his home country,still has siblings there) where I nearly bit my tongue clean off. I realized that looking after a 90yo is like having a toddler in the house. For all that, I have been feeling a little guilty that my hubby and I are going on an Alaskan cruise this summer and not taking Dad, because his bucket list. But I know dad wouldn’t love DCL, he likes a casino and he wouldn’t get the Disney stage shows.

I wish Dis would follow suit or offer a reduced second fare for single cruisers. My (single) cousin is one of my best friends but won’t be able to cruise with us unless he pays double which he won’t do.
